Travel question (Portugal?)

I've been invited to join family members on a trip to Portugal. It's not something that's been on my bucket list, but then I never have been to Europe, so I'm kinda toying with the idea. Anyone here familiar with the territory? Anything particular that's not to be missed?

I went to Lisbon three months ago. There are all sorts of tourist-y looking places around, but in particular, you can get a lovely view of the whole city from the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. If you do that early in the trip, you might get an idea of what you want to see up close!
In terms of food, assuming you eat meat, make sure to try pastéis de bacalhau (their version of fishcakes).
