The position of the Sun relative to the Earth is unknown until you stare directly at it.

But then you'll go blind and the Sun's position remains unknown, so it's not worth it.

I tend to favor the view that the solar system contains many planetary or dwarf-planetary bodies distributed in a random but more or less statistically-uniform manner throughout a pudding.
