Cannibal Island Survivor Signups

Post by heuristically_alone »

If you've never watched Survivor it is recommended that you check out the Survivor wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivo ... TV_series)
.
Basic Synopsis

The game starts out with each player randomly sorted into one of two Tribes. You'll be able to communicate with members of your Tribe at all times and build relationships with them.

Each "day" in the game consists of participating in a Challenge with your Tribe against the other tribe. The losing Tribe will be sent to Tribal Council where they'll be forced to vote one player from their Tribe out of the game.

Building social bonds with other members in your Tribe is crucial if you want to stay in the game. When a predetermined number of players are left, the two Tribes will be merged into one Tribe. At that point each "day" in the game will consist of a Challenge for Individual Immunity followed by a Tribal Council. The winner of that challenge is safe from the following Tribal Council and cannot be voted out. Players voted out will become a part of the Jury.

Jury Members are not competing anymore in the game and may not communicate with anyone still in the game. When there are 3 players left in the game, there is one final Tribal Council where the Jury Member get to ask questions to the Final 3 players and then the Jury votes for who they think should win this game of Survivor. The player with the most Jury votes wins.

There are other twists and advantage that could change the state of the game. For example, there are Immunity Idols and clues to Immunity Idols. Immunity Idols are items that can be played on a player during Tribal Council after everyone has voted and before the votes are revealed. If an Immunity Idol is played on you, you cannot be voted out and votes for you do not count.
.
General Rules

You are expected to treat the host and players with basic levels of respect. There is zero tolerance for excessive bullying as well as any prejudiced comments or other forms of hate.
It is up to the host to determine whether a player has acted poorly enough to warrant official actions, and if yes they will decide on the appropriate consequence based on the nature of the situation.
You are not allowed to make any third-party deals (things that are not associated with the game) with other contestants while playing (eg; I will give you ten dollars if you do not vote for me). This includes both blackmail and bribery.
.
Challenges and Immunity Challenges

Challenges will vary from puzzles, to strategic planning, to games and much more.

During the tribal stage of the game, each tribe will compete in immunity challenges.
The losing tribe will attend tribal council and vote someone off their tribe.
At the merge, players will compete for individual immunity. The contestant who wins individual immunity cannot be voted for at tribal council.
.
Tribal Council

The Tribe that loses immunity will attend tribal council. The other Tribe will be able to see the results.
During the merge all players left in the game must attend tribal council. The contestant with individual immunity cannot be voted for but will vote at tribal council.
Once a Tribal Council is posted, the tribe must vote within the given time period in your confessional channel.
You are allowed to switch your vote. You may do so as many times as you’d like throughout the tribal phase.
Votes must be submitted by the deadline. If you fail to do so, your vote will not be counted and instead a vote for yourself will be added in its place.
If after a given deadline, a player was not able to vote, they will automatically get a "self-vote" for a first offense, meaning that their vote is cast against themselves. A second offense (defined as failing to vote at two separate Tribal Councils) will result in disqualification and removal from the game.
If a player chooses to self-vote, it is classified the same as if they did not vote.
In the event of a tie at, a re-vote will be held. The players who are tied will not vote. If there is still a tie after the revote, the players will "draw rocks" to see who gets voted out. The players who are tied will be immune from drawing rocks as well as any player(s) with individual immunity or any players who played a hidden immunity idol. Of the remaining voting players, one will randomly be chosen that is voted out of the game.
.
Hidden Immunity Idols

If you find a clue, you can chose to keep it to yourself or share it with others but you may not share it with a member of the opposite tribe.
If you wish to use a hidden immunity idol, you must inform the host before the votes are read.
If you are playing your idol for someone other than yourself, you must specify who you wish to play it for.
If you want to give possession of your idol to another player in the game, you must tell the host and they will transfer the idol for you. Idols cannot be transferred cross tribal.
Situational idol plays are allowed! This means that during the tribal phase you are allowed to submit situational conditions while playing your idol. For example you could say “I will be playing my idol if Ally Allen chooses to play her advantage tonight.” However, you have to be specific with what you say. You cannot simply go “I play my idol if I get votes tonight.”
Other advantages such as double votes, vote stealers, etc are all fair game as well.
The idol can be used up to and including the final 5. After that it’s just a fancy souvenir.
In the event of a revote, the idol cannot be played on the second round of voting.
.
Leaving The Game

Pre-Jury

Once you are voted out of the game, you will be removed from the tribe chat and are no longer allowed to communicate with those still in the game.
You may still spectate the game and post in your confessional channel.

Jury

The rules for pre-jurors apply to jurors as well.

Once the jury phase of the game starts, when players are voted out, they will be removed from the tribe chat and placed in the ponderosa chat.
Jury members are not permitted to talk to players who are still in the game.
They are allowed to post reaction gifs, without any text, after tribal council results are revealed.
Jury members are allowed to discuss the game in the ponderosa chat but not with anyone left in the game.
If a jury member is caught interfering with the game they will be removed from the jury.
In the event that someone is removed from the jury the person voted off before the jury may join the jury or the jury will remain as is depending on the numbers.

Quitting, Medically Evacuated, Removals

If you are removed from the game by the host, the decision is final. If you are removed from the game, it is up to the host whether or not you may sit on the jury, if applicable.
You may quit the game at any time, but we kindly ask that you only apply if you are confident you will be able to stay through the entirety of the game.
If somebody leaves abruptly through a removal or quit, it is host's decision if the current round of play will continue or if no tribal council will be held.

Strikes

Strikes are given to avoid inactive contestants.
Strikes are given for not voting at tribal council, if your tribe or a host reports you inactive for more than 48 hours (Not including if you're sitting out a challenge), or being inactive during a Tribal Council phase
Two consecutive strikes will result in removal from the game.
If a contestant has three strikes, they will be removed from the game.

Cheating

If the host has reason to believe that cheating has occurred, they have the authority to ask for screenshots of messages or any other resources that might help sort the problem out. You are expected to cooperate in such times.
Cheating includes but is not limited to:
Altering a challenge score.

Using a score from Google.

Getting someone else to do a challenge for you.

Talking to jury members.

Talking to contestants still in the game as a juror.

In the event that a contestant is caught cheating, the host will choose a punishment appropriate for the action. The punishment will be decided by the host without input from the players.
Punishments include but are not limited to:
Removal from the game.

Not receiving a reward.

Ineligible to win individual immunity.

A vote at tribal council.

Removal from jury.

You may not quote anything another player or the host sends you to another player. You may paraphrase.
You may never send screenshots of your game conversations to another player, regardless of what is contained within them. This includes screenshotting your confessional channel or any group chats.
Voice messages, screen recordings, and any other documentation will be treated the same as screenshots if leaked/used unfairly. The former are similar to screenshots in the sense that they are generally used to better someone’s game unfairly. This does not go hand in hand with the game of survivor and the punishments will be severe.
.
Game Proper

Talking to members of the opposite tribe is not allowed.
It is the player's responsibility to regularly check for game updates such as tribal councils and challenges.
Penalties will be imposed to anybody who will be caught violating any rule in this post.
Unless stated specifically by the hosting team, you are forbidden to talk about the game with anyone except people on your tribe.
If somebody from a different tribe attempts to talk about the game with you, you must shut them down immediately and report the incident to the hosts in order to stay guilt free.
.
Confessions

Each player will have their own confessional channel where they can post their actions such as voting to the Host.
Confessions are used to document your thoughts during the game. The host may ask follow up questions as if in an interview situation.
These go to the public spectators during the game for the purpose of entertaining viewers and keeping them updated on your game. Players in the game will not be able to see your confessionals.
These will not be shared until after the game, so you can write whatever you want.
Don’t say anything that you’ll regret later.
Spectators will have the opportunity to vote for Player of the Season. As such, It is encouraged to send detailed confessionals as it can improve your chances of spectator votes.
.
Each 'day' in game consists of a challenge and tribal counsel, which irl will equate to about a week. Upon signing up you are commiting to upwards of 3 months depending on how many players sign up and how far you get, but the game is crafted to be significantly lower effort than a typical Mafia game with actions in challenges having 24+ hour deadlines. Game will be hosted entirely on Discord.

I've never watched Survivor.
