Thea thinks I "townslipped hard" - why is that, I wonder? was it something I did on purpose? given the quotes laserguy shared, maybe? because i'm vanilla, and the role pm was vanilla, i decided to take the obvious assumption that it's a highly vanilla game

ooooh, i implied i had a specific town role. i wonder what thea thinks it is! and why!!!! pls tell me after the game!!!!

First off, actually VT this game, so don't believe the hype.

Second, Seven saying that I'm polarized, meaning town and scum games are highly distinguishable would come as a big shock to BoomFrog, seeing as to him I was practically methane.

Third and somewhat related, Thea/LG attempting a statistical analysis of my posting style with three games in the past year is a steep hill IMO.
I'm pretty sure my style does vary game to game independent of my alignment mostly because of how sparse my playing is. Back on the old forum when we had games running consecutively, and sometimes concurrently, I could actually homogenize my play (and get better, truth be told, several months between games does nothing for my skill level).

I am genuinely amused by EGW's creative scum team fanfictions.

Especially since I'm not on the receiving end this time.
Edited cause I don't wanna spam the thread too much.

Laser's shifting from "more than one wolf" to "or exactly one" for a wagon that has more than a third of the game on it. I mean, right that glue is town but this is probably the most innocent composition for a D1 wagon on a townie possible.

Also amused that nobody seems to want to ask the mod anything. There's a fair number of purely mechanical questions and so far only scum has actually asked any questions. And they only asked one.

shrooping is the absolute worst "scum tell" and it fills me with fury whenever it's used seriously. I should've made it against the rules. / Mostly joking

Also, "would I do this if I was scum", is a scum tell for when somebody does something objectively useful to scum and saying "well, that's too obvious". Not for when you argue somebody is misstating your scum meta. Though TBF, she's scum this game.

Weird game. It's been awhile since I've found everyone so townie and am stuck with a fairly basic PoE and even the PoE I don't trust all that much.

Betting on Gluelock town. Too unopposed elim. If they are scum, likely looking at scummates that like to bus: Wam, Mak. Maybe somi.

If this flips Town I am worried we are in a Seven/EGW world.

[Edit]With third is JC I guess.

[Edit2]So I guess I might be dead.

[Edit3]Boo, twilight!!!

[Edit4]I think that explains a lot, actually. Too many people are townie because they are actually Town.

[Edit5]Ah, there it is. Town flip. Let's work backwards and find our third mafia. They need to win at once or not at all, I think.

It's not madge.
It's not bessie
It's not Fred.
It's not Wam.
Don't think it's Mak.
They seemed to be working hard to protect moody. Seven didn't acknowledge my read on him. And moody didn't seem to care about being eliminated. But there's one specific post of moody's at EoD that screamed Town.... Oh. Yeah, it's not moody.

Could be heury. No. They were okay with yeeting him.
EGW was pushing me a lot on my scumread of somi.

So much scum theatre.

So it's either Seven/EGW/somi or, Seven/EGW/JC.

Ah, it is somi. His EGW/Seven error was actually a slip. Wow. Jesus, what a brutal scumteam.

And that's why EGW was so certain my read on him was due to the error. Because he thought it was a major slip and was trying to defuse it, whereas I literally was just vibing.

And I'm dead tonight so it doesn't matter.

also me and sabrar are starting work on the next halloween game, someone suggested Time as a theme, and now I'm down with the idea of time travel mafia, but I was trying to think of a central plot

anyway, the obvious involves going back in time to kill Hitler. I was therefore thinking of having it be inspired by the flash fiction wikihistory, which is a classic of internet SF: https://reactormag.com/wikihistory/

Would people be OK with it? so nobody has to feel like a stick in the mud if they don't want my trademark lighthearted, comedic flavour-writing style applied to hitler, I'm making a strawpoll so you can vote anonymously.

some ground rules:
- hitler/nazis will not be glorified in any way, shape of form
- there will be no depiction of atrocities

vote in this poll: https://strawpoll.com/05ZdzD49En6

(trivia: you know how halloween mafia is invariably while i am performing in a community hteatre play? last year i actually played hitler, who i depicted with the appropriate amount of dignity and respect)

... Ya, it's the light hearted humor that does it for me. Gallows humor or relentless mocking of the Nazis can work, but from gentiles/gadjo feels like it could become deeply uncomfortable way way too easily even if that is the plan.

I really don't have a problem with publicly taking the heat for this and I feel similarly about other historical attrocities.

Appropriate amount of dignity and respect meaning the same portrayal as Lorenzo St DuBois gave him in "The Producers"?

@Adumbro: Cool, thank you for letting me know! I will think of something else. (this is why I check)

@moody: The Producers and Jojo Rabbit were my two main inspirations, so yes

Those were actually what I had in mind for gallows humor/relentless mocking.

Mel Brooks absolutely can pull it off for example, but he's also probably the most legendary figure in Jewish comedy cinema which isn't exactly an empty field. Even JoJo Rabbit, also helmed by Jewish creator, is much more controversial.

But if you're secretly Mel Brooks, you've won me over completely.

Sadly, I'm not Mel Brooks.

I was very unsure about being cast in the role and almost refused it, but I think I did pretty well in the end. It helped that in the context of the film it wasn't the real hitler, it was a dream, and it was local amateur theatre so not the stakes of having in an actual Hollywood film.
