OK Seven was saying in the discord that we should do halloween signups. So... here we are? I gues I'll make a thread

Looks like the schedule is going to be:

1. Halloween AI mafia
2. PyP mafia
3. Christmas mafia

with maybe 2 & 3 switching if Halloween runs long.

i'm going to apologise in advance if i don't let people have the poisons they picked, after last year i'm going to be extra paranoid and if after researching the character i don't feel confident in writing them, i'm gonna choose something i'll write well

i don't know if i mentioned this - i think i haven't - but i have a new job and it's great and i'm actually happy (WHAT) but i should still be able to mod and all just i won't be so desperate from an escape from the drudgery of life...

Stranger Things was great, I was very happy with my character. I have a couple of more people incoming for sign ups btw. What's your new job?

my new job is in the same org but instead of doing project management i basically evaluate the safety of every major road project in my state and say whether i think it's good enough? so that's pretty neat. i don't feel at all qualified but people seem to trust me

me and sabrar are working on the halloween setup.

currently i want 7/10 pizzazz, he wants 2/10 pizzazz. we'll see where we end up. (i will not give final pizzazz number as that's prob leaking setup information in a way BORING SABRAR wouldn't appreciate it)

i am pretty sure sabrar isn't reading this but if he is i love you and i appreciate you, you're my buzzkill bae <3

look i have gotten 10 years of experience in road safety since i started playing mafia on this forum so it feels like i should be better at mafia than at road safety theory and i suuuuck at mafia

also, so everyone knows, all images in the halloween game are AI generated by me using DALLE3 (via bing), so will not reflect the actual appearance of most pop culture characters and will certainly not be consistent from image to image

and also none of the flavour text is AI generated.

i fully 100% intend for it not to be at all, but given this is when my life enters "busy season", i can't promise not to do so - writing the flavour and generating the images this morning took me about two hours (but a good chunk of that was getting it to generate a passable image of [redacted]), but tbh prompting and then editing might have taken a comparable amount of time so who knows

It feels good to write flavour that comes easily rather than trying to learn about a TV show I've never watched! Again, sorry to All My Fans about last year's flavour fiasco.

I really like this setup too, a couple of really unique roles and many more standard ones, and of course a few surprises.

I'm going to not give spoilers in the spoiler thread. Let's see what happens.

Yay town. I won't have to try too hard.

Body guard is obviously useless since I'm the most important townie, unless someone else is really going hard on analyzing. Maybe zen. But the weakness of my protection implies any investigative role will be weak as well.

But the ready for a fight part is really cool. I like the role design, interesting but not too strong.

Well, there's my heavy lifting for the week. I'm town, basically Alexa, with a track/watch combo that only works if one of the tracked visits one of the watched, makes for some interesting choices. Somi pretty much breadcrumbed Marvin in his first post, the rest of the post requirements are going to be something to get through.
