Hey hey. I've got some important interviews to prepare for so I won't be able to post much until tonight. I still haven't read most posts between page 13 and EoD D1. I have a limit on how much time I can put into the game.
I have a flavor thing I plan to claim but I'm going to confirm with the mod first. But I can explain the abby context maybe.

Now that Bersaria has been revealed, I'm gonna write up a combined min jargon event summary of both games collectively when I get a chance. It will be linked in the first post.

So in Besaria, the hero is referred to as a "Lord of Calamity".
The long history between the two games is what gets the history twisted and has the Lord of Calamity as a villain in Zestaria. So it would make sense that alignment alone isn't really enough to know somebodies mafia/town alignment as it depends on the game.

HOLY FUCK IVE ACTUALLY PLAYED SOME OF BERSERIA WHICH IS THE PREQUEL TO ZESTIRIA HOW DID I FORGET THIS
I need to do a flavour deep dive, might be able to parse some things out about the setup
For now Im pretty sure we are either dealing with two 2 person scum teams or one 3 person scum team and an indy SK/abductor. I say abductor because eveb though the flavor says someone is being "devoured" and flipping as if they were traditionally killed, Adum specifically said there could be resurrection mechanics in this game so Im thinking that could be linked to one "method" of killing that people can be revived from. This is all very tentative though I need to go review game lore to make sure im remembering things correctly about the game setting
Moody give us your thoughts about why you think you were NKd when you can. Im kinda crazy busy today and tomorrow but should have more time this weekend to put all my thoughts together after I do this research

A vig is usually not a separate faction unto themselves

Random thoughts:
- if we have true multi-ball then we need to depreciate the value of all reads that hinge upon a player trying to solve the game, as scum will legitimately hunt for the other faction.
- moody does not make sense nor as a normal NK-target, nor as a target for protection (barring special circumstances). It is either a Vig-shot or scum trying to find other scum. That's why I think he was targeted by a single ability, in which case we need to decide whether Tree Stumping makes more sense for a Vig or a scum-faction.
- bessie is a Doc-dodge or a team that is specifically afraid of her catching them in late-game (with a side-potential again of scum aiming for the other scum).

I recalled that it was in the rules but figured mod confirmation would be the fastest way to settle that line of thinking publicly. Maybe that was rude to force the mod to answer instead of going the extra mile to find and quote the rule. But I wanted to clarify the treestump thing as well.

I was almost certainly the cop target last night seeing how the day ended. So just in case the cop is some sort of flavor cop it seemed prudent to full claim my flavor since it seemed a little wonky.

Agreed. This was my main reason for finding the early Fred votes (Wam, Laser..........Moody
)sus almost right after he brought multiball up.

Like an abductor that would take people out of the game permanently "unless revived"? I only know abductor as a two way one night role block sort of role.

sorry should have been more clear, what I meant by abductor is a third party, generally independent, serial killer-esque role that instead of killing players they target, instead removes them from the game and they are functionally dead, unless and until the abductor is eliminated in which case all of their previous NK/abduction targets then return to the game alive as if they had never been abducted to begin with
Basically what Im saying is that a game with revival powers could allow an SK to operate from a balance perspective much more like an abductor in terms of how much that indy role would "reduce swing" so to speak

Scum's typical MO for kills is influential players who are seen as towncore, neither of which describes me. I figure if it is scum, they're new and unfamiliar with my meta, an out of the box kill to make chaos, or they were redirected. It could also have been a SK or a town vig looking for scum. And of course most of this was already pointed out by Sabrar.
