"I can keep control! Just like the Abbey taught me to!"
You abbey training cannot protect you from malevolence so deep. Furthermore, I thought you forsook them and chose freedom, isn't this the natural results of such a choice for weak humans?
Eleanor tries to answer with something biting, but she can't anymore. The impurity gradually overcomes her, and then completely does, she becomes a Hellion.
But wait, something happened. She is shortly thereafter bathed in a radiant silver flame. The corruption falls from her. She is left purified. Too weakened to fight anymore but free of the taint.
Moody, Eleanor, Town Neighborizer has been corrupted by malevolence! She has been purified by the silver flame and becomes a tree stump instead of dying.
She is not the only person under assault. Zenrus, a lord of the land is also trying desperately to survive. "No, you don't understand, if something happens to me, malevolence will consume the entire village and who knows how many Seraphs will become Hellions".
The attacker is undeterred and kills Zenrus with one more swift strike, seemingly devouring him whole.
Bessie, Zenrus, Town Psychic has been devoured.
The group is naturally confused. Who is this Eleanor, what is the abbey? She doesn't seem affiliated with any political organizations that exist right now.

It is now Day 2. Day 2 ends January 26th at 4 pm EST.
Note: I'm trying to do the deadline before work this week instead of after. I hope that works better for people's schedules. Since it's a little shorter, if that's an inconvenient time I'm willing to move to monday evening without consuming an extension.
Note 2: since the psychic has a bunch of different variations without a real standard I should treat it like a custom role and explain what variation I'm treating as standard for this game. What I'm treating as standard psychic just gives a list of abilities that a person was targeted by.

I'm curious about the difference between corrupted and devoured... devoured is obviously a kill, but is being corrupted by malevolence a recruit of some sort that Moody was saved from or was it also a form of kill?

nooooo, bessie
nothing to report yet, but probably eventually (maybe d3 or d4, i have no smoking guns or anything)
ACTIVITY NOTE: I'm going on a short holiday to denmark on Sunday, which is a long drive, so i won't be around / VLA from about 24 hours before deadline (I will be able to make a quick post/vote 5-6 hours before deadline but the deadline is in the middle of the night for me so legitimately won't be around for the last hour scramble thank you adumb), and might not be around in the opening 24 hours of the day dpeending on night length

@EGW: you said you were dying on the hill of a Mak + ahippo team. You also said that you changed your mind regarding Mak. Why did that not have an influence on your read on ahippo? The main point of Mak reacting to ahippo's 'mistake' and then coaching him was just rendered moot. Why do you not reevaluate after a premise has become obsolete?

Good morning. I did change my mind on Mak, Bessie's change of vote caused me to reconsider. Remember that I individually scumread Ahippo, and I said I originally was reading Mak town until that post of him talking about him having that claim before. The premise was Ahippo's individual actions, and Mak's layered on top of that. I try not to base my scumreads on associations, but the other way around. I still believe Hippo's adaption of Bop's words to be suspect. At the moment I think Mak is town.
However, I'm unsure about anyone else but Boom. I'm more confident that he is actually scum. So for now, my picks are Boom and Ahippo. I will re-read tomorrow to get a better sense of why Bessie was killed and formulate reads.

If it's anything like my tree stump role I had in "
Are we human or are we dancer" Mafia, it's possible someone targeted Moody and saved him. In that game, I chose four targets and if one of them were targeted by a kill, they'd get stumped. If no one targeted any of them, then one of the targets would get randomly chosen as a stump.

Also how coincidental that even a psychic died night one this game, just like that game.

All I know is that I can't vote in thread, not whether that was two separate actions.

It's been ages since we played a game together, man.
Now then, seeing as I haven't really done my mafia homework in the night, I have no idea what's going on, can someone summarise to me the key events of D1 that lead to Freddino's elim?

Modtext does say Moody was saved from dying, to me this seems to suggest moody was targeted by some form of kill and either 1) a tree stumper also targeted him or 2) he had a passive ability to become tree stump (but Moody seems to say this isn't the case).

There was nothing in my role about becoming a tree stump upon being NKed, so I figure it would need to be a separate role, similar to the role in Dancers. In that case it might be a particular modding quirk of Adum's, but metagaming the mod is always perilous. If that was a vig "kill", I hope whomever it is burns in shame for the rest of the game.

He had no content and would have been a liability in endgame. If not enough people are online then majority voting prohibits last minute pushes, so he became a compromise candidate after your predecessor had a townie outburst.

First of all, Hi Somitomi, welcome! I wanted to say I absolutely love the profile picture cohesion.
Second, I need to promise myself to not work on posts in the night when I'm not sure who will die and how that will change my beliefs. Especially if I'm growing more and more convinced of somebodies guilt and they die in the night and flip town. Haven't learned yet! Which speaking of-
Hi Moody! I was wrong about you, clearly! That's on me, glad you're a tree stump and not dead.

These are the basics of the Freddino elim as I wrote. My night takes in the next post so this isn't a formatting nightmare.
1. Laser Guy votes Fred around page 6-7, having Fred low in reads list.
2.Wam votes for Fred after Fred asks why he is low on Laser Guy's read list, mentions to "point to more contentful posts."
3. Moody votes for Fred-had recently put Fred as bottom two in a reads list.
---------------Everything under this line happened in the eight-6 hours before deadline-----------------------------
4. Ahippo votes for Fred-for explicit ""keeping as much distance between myself and the rope as possible. If I went to the trouble of claiming my power D1, I'd appreciate the chance to use it.
5.Bessie votes for Fred-changing from previous vote on ahippo once ahippo posted some reads. This vote was explicit and told Fred he had to provide reads.
4. Hippo unvotes Fred, and switches to Teh Bubblez thinking he was the more likely choice. Same reasoning as his prior vote.
5. EGW votes Fred, changing vote from ahippo. Based on later posts, seems bc ahippo would not garner the 8 votes this close to deadline.
---Bubblez's last post includes a self-vote------
6. Boomfrog votes Fred instead of Bubblez in response to post.
5. EGW unvotes Fred and votes for Boomfrog.
6. Mak unvotes Bubblez and Votes Fred, saying its the safer option to actually go through (and could hit coasting scum.)
7. Sabrar votes for Fred instead of Boomfrog. T-minus thirty minutes at this point.
8. EGW unvotes boomfrog and votes for Fred.
And Hammer!!

Same timeline but w my night one opinions below:
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
1. Laser Guy votes Fred around page 6-7,having Fred low in reads list.
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
Fred had not posted reads, but had recently posted about possible multiball and Lord of Calamity/Shepard split. (My take: I don't think suspicious now. Laser Guy explicitly talked abt a framework to discuss the things Fred brought up, so not an example of burying info.)
2.Wam votes for Fred after Fred asks why he is low on Laser Guy's read list, mentions to "point to more contentful posts."
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
I found this suspicious as more trying to bury either/both the multiball and calamity shepard discussion, but I also thought the same about Moody jumping on. So I may need to re-asses.
3. Moody votes for Fred-had recently put Fred as bottom two in a reads list.
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
I had found this suspicious for the same reasons as above. Oops!
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
I still buy the claim, don't love the reasoning but wanting to survive is faction neutral.
5.Bessie votes for Fred-changing from previous vote on ahippo once ahippo posted some reads. This vote was explicit and told Fred he had to provide reads.
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
This is super consistent. Liked this. Doesn't matter now, but.
4. Hippo unvotes Fred, and switches to Teh Bubblez thinking he was the more likely choice. Same reasoning as above vote.
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
Same thoughts as other hippo vote
5. EGW votes Fred, changing vote from ahippo. Based on later posts, seems bc ahippo would not garner the 8 votes this close to deadline.
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
Had said they'd hammer Bubblez one post before if somebody put on the second to last vote. The vote switching is weird! Bessie had said it's a playstyle difference.
---Bubblez's last post includes a self-vote------
6. Boomfrog votes Fred instead of Bubblez in response to post.
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
Null to me, don't really have thoughts on it with the high pressure situation that close to deadline.
5. EGW unvotes Fred and votes for Boomfrog.
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
A few people did this, I'd like the three of them to elaborate on their reasoning. Mainly bc that's not the boomfrog read I've been getting so far, but I don't have any meta to work with.
Spoiler (Show/Hide)
These last three were so close to deadline, I really didn't get anything from them.

Oh! Also looked them up for flavor and saw Moody's character Eleanor is from Tales of Berseria, not Tales of Zestria. And now the title of the game changed to "Tales of Desolation", with a new photo in the first post explicitly including both games. Desolation(translated to Wasteland) being the name of the world both games take place in.

Mods did say that those 2 flavor alignments were from 2 different games. If it's going to switch back and forth, perhaps there are some actions that can be done every other day based on if it's desolation or zestiria. Also possibilty of 2 scum teams and hear me out, they can only target players of a specific alignment, in which case claiming our flavor alignments wouldn't be wise.

Could just be flavor that I'm reading into too much, but I found the wording odd and it was referenced in both actions. Moody became a hellion, but was purified and instead became a tree stump, then Bessie's character said if she was gone she wouldn't be able to stop the Seraphs from becoming Hellions...
Does that mean Hellion equals death?

It feels safe to say in terms of
transforming into one this game, as characters who lose themselves to malevolence turn into something unlike themselves (thought either doubt, emotional turmoil, etc). Not
all characters transform so long as they don't have that doubt, and at least a one who technically "transformed" does retain themselves a bit.
So I think it's more a death in sense of self? But for this game purposes still counting as a death.

I am still pretty flavour blind, but this makes me wonder if any characters appear in both and how that would work mechanically. Probably worth being cautious though
