@mods is the period next to Adum’s name intentional?

seriously, you guys will read into THAT? yes, it indicates that he's got a special secret power. no, it's a punctuation mark that got put there by accident. i am leaving it there because, seriously?? this is why i explicitly told y'all that the daystart formatting change was meaningless

If you're going to act like JJ Abrams, you're going to have people wondering if the empty beach scene at the end meant they were dead all along.

Daily woof.

Wam wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:42 am How about you make life easy given the volume of content. 3-5 pages when I wake up is easy to miss stuff in.

So to be clear your claiming insane N1 paranoid N2. By the way I rarely click youtube links so missed that?
Yes, you are right I didn’t know you didn’t click links so I will no longer make them mandatory.

Wam wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:42 am What I was fishing for and you didn't say is you held of claiming because you knew someone else had a result on adum. But given you knew your sanitites and therefore knew you weren't going to get a good result n2. A few posts later you knew how it was going down in thread I'm surprised you weren't closer to claiming to save adum.
1. I did know someone else had a result on Adum, it was in the Day Start post. For what exactly were you fishing? How is this proof that my non-claim was scummy?
2. I made my D2 start post Wednesday 10:15 (toward the bottom of page 20) my time and went to bed. I don’t play at work, so my next post was Thursday 5:45 pm (middle of page 27). Which was also earlier than usual for me on a work day because I left early because we had a fire. By the time I got home, the fire in the thread had already calmed down and I didn’t need to claim to save Adum. And I probably would have claimed because of Adum’s distress which I felt very bad about. See here:

I am very sorry, Adum. How are you feeling?
Note that one of the contributing reasons for picking Adum is that I thought people would question the result more, and I thought Adum would handle it differently (though I’m sure the hospital visit was a factor).

Wam wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:42 am vote bessie

Don't think her use of powers is townie, she's in my POE pool.
How so? I think I used my powers exceptionally well.

Because of my previous read which, due to circumstances beyond my control, I wasn't able to falsify, and because of the newly relearned lesson that bessie don't bus, and my opinion that she is town in this game.
And what about the information of somi claiming to have copped Mak ? That if somi was scum with them and got caught in the lie would be game losing for scum?
Santy I am suspicious of why you are defending Mak using this point in particular, somi must have copped Mak for this to be a valid point, ok. But I think that there may have been other ways to get this information if Mak is town.

Freddino18 wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 1:23 pm Vote: Bessie
How about you try something new and give me the reasons for your vote? And while you are at it you can answer the question I asked you yesterday:

Freddino18 wrote: Mon Nov 18, 2024 6:01 pm From what I've seen, bessie tends to tunnel one person at a time. Having seen none of that this game, I highly suspect her as a scum candidate.
Interesting, please explain your logic.

Makhaira wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 3:52 pm Bessie and moody voting for me in this game state is absolutely wild. They are both clearly not on the same page, not sure what the hangup is

Vote: Bessie

Happy to see some momentum here, I really think this slot needs to flip. Why double target adum? Makes no sense. Why would she not state whether she is compulsory or not? There is no reason from a town PoV to hide that info. They both just want to chip away at my town equity to keep me open as an elim which screams non town today. They aren't even trying to work out sensible PoEs, like I genuinely don't understand how anyone with a town POV can see me as a play today
1. Targeting Adum on N2 makes perfect sense as I explained in my previous post. Try reading it.
2. Why do you care so much if I am compulsory? Why do you need this information so badly?
3. Yes, I want to chip away at your town equity because I think you’re scummy. How is that non-towny?
4. Was that a “look at me I’m so townie” comment? Bonus squared!

And? Loud roles consistently don't get modifiers when they're named in beginning of day posts, that's consistent. We just saw flips get modifiers. The issue is that your claim is inconsistent. It caught the publishing modifier but not equivalent loud modifier for the other two JOATs. It also didn't catch the rest of Bessie's modifier. That means you faked something.
I’m just noting this for now because I don’t agree with Adum, mostly because I think this requires too much on assuming the Mod will do things in a certain way.

Wam wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:26 pm My experience is bessie claims when needed and thinks it through I saw no evidence of that it was her thinking strategically it was just thrown back at me as questions.
What? Where??

AdumbroDeus wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:32 pm Is your power compulsive?

And to clarify "from the beginning", means you know your sanity each night you use it from the beginning of the game right?
I kinda don’t want to answer the first question just to further irritate Mak. Do you really need to know?
And yes, I know the full schedule. And I think scum will need to both roleblock me and kill me tonight to prevent my next two investigations, since my power resolves before the kill.

Wam wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:36 pm It's probably a different mindset but I don't know how your an insane publishing cop and don't assume a town player with a public not tow result.is not.going to be the elim.
Already been discussed. With the high caliber of mafia players in this game, I expected everyone to question the result (bus driver, misdirected, false result, framer, etc.). And only Seven did.

AdumbroDeus wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:39 pm My issue was (and still is frankly, but not to the degree I initially thought) a disagreement about what constitutes bastard.
I couldn’t verify this earlier when I wasn’t ready to claim but I don’t think my role is bastard because I know exactly how it works.

Seven wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:40 pm Exactly how many eliminations on xkcd have you seen occur before the end of day. Santy in Dancer is the only one I can recall in all my time playing here. Why would Bessie be under the mindset that this wouldn’t hold true. You’re being maliciously uncharitable.
+1, QFT, dude you read my mind…
Adum was never going to be eliminated on the first day of D2 there was no hurry.
Wam’s illogical obsession with this make me think he and somi were probably upset that they had to alter their prepared fake claims.

Theallieza wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:43 pm My hypothesis is that if Wam watched Adum, then it is very unlikely that he would have participated in a NK on Adum. I think there is a world where scum!Wam would be interested in watching Adum to try to see who the protective and/or investigative roles might be, but not at the same time that he would be trying to do a kill there. So I do not think that Wam and Somi are aligned. Wam might be otherscum or indy, but I don't think he's in the same camp as Somi.
What I was getting at is that if one of them got the role name “publishing cop” from somewhere, Wam is good enough to formulate a fake claim from the D1 opening post.

Sorry I have to take a break and will pick up later at the top of page 67.
Hoku went to the vet and he failed his blood test and his ultrasound test and she put him on a vegetarian diet. I have no idea what we’re going to feed him tonight.

Sorry to hear about Hoku. My brother has a Labradoodle with health issues and has been feeding her frozen beans (presumably cooked first, then frozen so they're a bit crunchy), be worth a try.

While that's fair, I will note that while I think we have a bit of a difference of opinion on what that consistutes and the implications, I am of the understanding that Sabrar and I share a view that mafia games are ultimately a puzzle, and understanding the rules are a big part of what makes puzzles interesting.

As much as I appreciate how amusing it can be to irritate Mak (sorry bro :p) I think it's useful to know in this scenario and would appreciate it.

I couldn’t verify this earlier when I wasn’t ready to claim but I don’t think my role is bastard because I know exactly how it works.
My point in bringing it up here wasn't to litigate it. It was to explain that Wam is wrong about my thought process. I did not react like I did because I expected to be elimed and I would not replace out for expecting to be elimed for ending up at the wrong end of a power role.

I reacted like I did because because of mechanical disagreements. Wam's case that you should have claimed near immediately because everyone knew I'd be immediately elimed is bunk, for this and other reasons like Seven pointing out that quick Elims just don't happen on the forum so you had no reason to predict it.

(As far as my thoughts on the topic, I do understand, but I also disagree. Looking back I think my initial reaction was poor (I've apologized to Sabrar for this and intend to offer an apology to Madge in postgame), but as I referenced when discussing sanities earlier for Santy's benefit genuinely think Sanities (and by extension other roles that give lying cop results) aren't a good solution to cops and only aren't considered bastard because of normalization.

But I think it's something to discuss in depth post-game.)

towny af, or at minimum extremely unpairing from somi imo, no reason for this vote when wam can absolutely go thru at this point momentum hasnt fully swung yet

later to the party but still pretty townie, within seven bus range, they had enough info here to read the room and see the lead swap happening
Seven wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:58 pm Moody has just been lurking this entire EoD. Not sure why you guys are town reading.
towny af post imo, this is pretty much the only reason Im willing to compromise on moody, that and his "Im perfectly fine with my vote on wam" post

I dont go anywhere but bessie or moody today, lets please start consolidating sooner than later. I think Im right on bessie but I understand the other perspectives, just think her role is scummy af and her play seems incredibly disjointed from the towncore gestalt. its suss af to me but w/e Im bad at reading bessie so I get it. I also think if she's going to play coy with her role I'd rather just flip her to see if what she had to say was reliable or not, selfish but I think its +EV here unironically, if bessie is town she is grossly misplaying her role if I understand it even remotely correctly

adum is crazy self prez this game way more than I'd normally expect from town!adum so theres something ulterior there, consonant with having a very strong/high risk-reward PR but also with just being scum or indy or something wacky cuz trollish game

If anyone is claiming that they have clears or guilties on anyone now is the time to post your evidence and explain it to us all like we are 5

If anyone has a theory that they think proves someone lied about a night action, claimed power, result, etc now is the time to explain it to us all like we are 5

Im plan on presenting any such theories by end of night tomorrow but have nothing conclusive to present at this time

"self-prez", that's a funny way to classify self-voting and saying please kill me and when you stop being paranoid do what I say with a side of "ok kill my target and if I'm wrong I'll let you kill me".

That's genuinely an odd way to classify how I'm playing right now.

From:

Wam - 5 - Bessie, Santygrass, Adum, moody, somi
somi - 3 - Makhaira, Fred, wam

Moves are:

Seven to Somi (4)

Adum Unvote Wam (4)

Santy from Wam (3) to Somi (5)

So santy functionally hammered somi over wam when it could have tied for no elim which was prob proscum outcome there so I think santy ++ town equity too

None of them were self-preservation. Not everything is ATE, I think you got so burned by Madge's you can't tell a genuine ATE anymore.
