Then I'm left with a pool of Moody, Greedy, and EGW?

Of all those I'd pair up with prolly EGW, at this point, ofc reads would change throughout days, but I'd rather substitute Bessie in for Kay any day myself.

I'm open to the idea of waiting till day 2 on it now, I think somi's post that initially confused me actually made me think a bit more, and Day 2 Bessie is >>> town than Day 1 bessie IMO now. Open to others thoughts on this.

About time I got around to this post. I am town aligned, a 2 shot vig when gets a private chat with those I "devour" when or they're dead. No clue what Id use this chat for. If I do ideally kill mafia, there is no point in talking to them. If I kill town, I'd be too embarrassed and ashamed to talk to them. I suppose they could convey to me any actions they used that hasn't been shared. This game I want to be purposefully confrontational. I've gone a little too light and joking with that then I meant. We'll see how it goes.

Sorry but this will be a brief daily bark. I got home late because Hoku has an ear infection and I needed to buy some ear cleaner after work, and I’ve just spent half an hour chasing him around and trying to clean out his ears and had to change clothes because I had ear cleaning fluid all over me. (For those of you that don’t know me yet, Hoku is a 100 pound Labrador Retriever that runs on jet fuel.)

I think you should factor in that this was more of confusion rather than not reading the Day 1 begins post. I did see it, however upon seeing discussion of you seemingly not being in the game, I went to double check the first post, which did not have you in the playerlist, and instead had Wam in it. Which I then thought, hmm, I don't see Bessie signing up in this thread, so then thought you possibly were not in the game. What are your thoughts with that in mind, Bessie? Also good to see you again.

Bessie, you also didn’t like gims claiming town immediately in the last game and he was town. We are from the same site, maybe it’s just our quirk that we are over eager to claim our alignment.

You can give me negative points for being stupid but I don’t think your system works well for those of us that came here from the same site if you’re always going to be upset that we jump the claim gun lol

The early claiming thing is something just I find suspicious, and it’s an area where most people don’t agree with me. I clash with both LaserGuy and Seven over this in like every game, as they generally feel early claims are townie. My viewpoint on early claiming is that it goes against the spirit of the game. You’ll probably see me discuss this a lot if you play with us for a while.

Thank you Heury for your trust! I would like to vote you right away but I don’t want to deny the other players a full game Day of my exceptional scumhunting abilities, so I will put this on hold until closer to deadline.

Can you explain why you'd like to vote Heury right away, out of curiosity.

IRL reasons. I’m super busy which is why I didn’t initially sign up for this game. I have a sick family member, and I’ve been working long hours because we had a couple people leave, and we laid off a few others.

Bessie is going to hate me, half my personality is talking about why I’m town or how town I am because I always assume I’m so obvious when apparently I’m not. And I get belligerent about it sometimes. I’m not good at change so this might not end well lol

Hahaha, I am enjoying playing with you exactly as you are! If I had to play with a bunch of other people that were like me I would get annoyed with them very quickly!

Now if only someone could teach me how to just quote the section I highlight rather than having to delete every other part of the post!

The norm is to have one playerlist, in the OP. First ever time that a game has been merged with sign ups that I have seen lately. Not only that, the second player list is deep under sign up posts, again not the norm. So I only checked the OP out of pure habit.

But that might just be paranoia. I just don’t know why s/s would do this and I don’t think Bessie would’ve agreed with it so it’d have to have just been Heury deciding to go rogue.

I wouldn't rule out Heury acting on their own incentive, but you're right, the paranoia is real

Ok, I am properly awake now and I was in fact the idiot.
This does mean that bessie's not quasi-cleared until the phase ends (resetting Heury's vote), so I don't think she should be in the first flip based on this

Basically, I figured it was such an out of left field mistake to make about whether a player is actually playing or not that it had to be sinister. My personal biases that probably led to that are a. the way I read the thread put the big flashy picture and the starting player list foremost when the game started and b. knowing heury well enough to know he wouldn't make the same mistake whereas deadbananas is a blank slate so far.

First, I don't see how it's a strange mistake to make, the playerlist is usually in the first post of the game thread, so it's perfectly normal to look for it there. This time the final playerlist was posted later, so we ended up with an incorrect playerlist at the top and the correct one further down the page. Case in point: two other people made the same mistake during their attempt to check if bessie was in the game.
Secondly, I can't really think of any nefarious goal deliberately making this mistake could serve.

No, I think it's still possible because people were giving Bessie a town read after having heury as >rand scum. Possible that the motivation is low in the team and that could lead to such a high risk high reward gambit.

Why would motivation be low?

My brother in christ the goal here is not getting to the risky flips at all, the best game scenario is to flip the four townest towns to ever town and win.

pretty sure we only need 3 consecutive successful pure town trust falls to win? obv if one scum gets out it will take us more but if we never let scum out its only 3 to win because rules say town wins at parity iirc

Yeah, I mathed wrong and that would be six of the townest town, but it's always 3 pure flips in total to win.

That's where what I said about "how I read the thread" comes into play. I click the "view new posts" icon which takes me to the first new post, which at the start of the game was Seven's big splash pic and the correct list with bessie on it and directly underneath heury's goofy vote for her.

When you made this post, I thought you know kinda fair, misinterpreting me a bit, but the connections I was looking at were definitely a bit of a stretch and leaned into meta analysis more. But then you made this post

I'm going to be an asshole and state it. Wam was scum in the previous game, got elimmed. It's possible he replaced out after realizing during sign ups that he got scum and noped out. I'm not going to bank it on this, which is why I think it's important to read Bessie by her content. But I'm impatient. Regardless, highly don't think either should be voted ever.

Just trying to get an understanding of your thought process here, I like your townread of somi since its what I was looking for, even if its making me a bit nervous about that slot. Definitely want to hear Mak's thoughts as well.

For my part, I'm suspicious of people whose bottoms solely consist of the people who've been involved in odd things, I feel either town or mafia could do odd things, and its very easy to make a convincing argument without having to do any real analysis.
