apparently so, i targeted moody because he is a confirmed town, but he's a tree stump and as stumped can't be targeted

Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
No need yet. Let's just get all the claims in, though at this point it is quite obvious what somi will claim.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
So. At the very beginning of the game one of the many questions I asked the mods was whether there is any possibility of an ability having a random component. There was no real reason to suspect this, I was just paranoid about it because the sample role-pm had it and I don't like RNG-based abilitites. I didn't really expect an answer, however Adum revealed that the only random element to an ability is if a compulsive action does not get submitted and then the target would be chosen randomly (rule 4 in the 'Activity and Deadlines' section).
Just to be absolutely sure I have now re-confirmed with the mods that Bop's claim does not fit into the framework of the game. You can all ask the mods privately or in thread if you want. No ability should exist in the game where the outcome is not completely deterministic.
Vote: Bop
I'm sorry it came down to this, you played exceptionally well.
Let's not hammer prematurely, we have a lot of time to discuss night-actions.

Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
Well then, let's not delay:
I'm Magilou, the other flavour cop, BoomFrog can confirm that I checked him N1 and got Berseria. N2 I checked Heury, he's also Berseria.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3

*Sigh*
I believe it but man is this sad. Can you target someone two nights in a row btw?

Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
Also, at first I thought that it could be possible that Bop would be lying about the RNG aspect of their role with some sort of 'tryi g to fool scum' kind of deal, but I dont see any way in where lying about that can be of any benefit? Specially if claiming vengeful already is super revealing idk. And the claim itself is convoluted enough vs all other claims being kinda simple so ooof

Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
Yeah, I guess Bop will claim that it was some ruse, however that's not the townie-thing to do when we're going for a mechanical solve.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
Womp womp. I was just thinking we should just take out Santy and Bop and we'd surely hit the last scum. Now the actual scum hunting has been denied me. More thoughts after game is fully over.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
Yay! I was hoping that cop would check heury. Good job. Makes me feel better about Heury.
We should decide a target for Heury. Actual three target choices one based on mafia flip, 1 for town flip and 1 for indy flip. I know the first seems most likely but we should be thorough.
Although we could be a little lazy and pick holster for those cases.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
@moody: we still need a bessie known question from you.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
@phillip1882 I'd still like to hear your thoughts, just write anything. Even just summarize what you've read in the game thread so far.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
It would have just meant I could add two people to my neighborhood instead of one. No great loss.phillip1882 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 9:17 pm apparently so, i targeted moody because he is a confirmed town, but he's a tree stump and as stumped can't be targeted
The only one I can think of depends on whether heury was in the Doctor Who game. My cloak and dagger fu is teh sux.

Okay then. Question for bessie: what was your role that scared me so much in the Doctor Who game?

Is that Dr Who game from a different site that Heury just can't go and look up to get the answer?

Fuck me.
Some lessons (such throwing any hypothetical you have to the mods first to make sure you know it clears) are learned hard. Stings badly to get got on a technicality, but mayyyybe deserved as that’s basically how I pushed Wam yesterday. History rhymes. Feel like there’s got to be some better way to do rule 13 where players aren’t punished for not running the same hypotheticals by the mods that other players have, since in practice it does function as a “what roles aren’t in this a game” question still. (maybe if a non-factional specific question like “would X type of role be bastard” is answered privately it could be added to the rule or some living document all players can access?) but lesson learned on my end!
Tried to come up with some sort of townie explanation for faking unkillable acetic, but look. There’s not one. I’m sure it won’t make a difference,(my argument yesterday was literally “even if Wam is telling the truth we can’t take the risk”) but I lied bc I wanted to get by and survive.
I’m Lunarre, from Tales of Zestiria, Indy Survivor aligned with neither a Shepherd nor Lord of Calamity. I'm a loner who steals(absorbs) roles from players that target me. I got lucky I looked into flavor enough to know what boom was getting at on D2 and wanted in on the ground floor. I had hoped to maybe get an early doctor N1 or N2 by being active and actually hunting(and almost succeeded twice according to the claims???? god) or at least get something I could provably use for a false claim, but instead I literally wasn’t targeted once.
Not one time.
By a single person.
Not a morsel of an ability.
So I figured for the full claim I’d just give myself the dream role and ignore my ability. Kill Mirror and partial Aecetic-You can’t kill me, don’t cop me. Added the 50% and two shot to not make it seem too strong. Oops.
I do still stand by suspecting Santy. I know you're probably indy (at best) bc I'm living it. We're the only ones without the standard lord/shep balance. And better you than me(obviously since you're still lying about it I'm the likely vote, but. Rule 11. Gotta play my wincon.)

I do want to say in regards to things only Bessie would know. Doctor who mafia is not fully gone, Moody.

At least the first, second, and last pages were archived on the non echochamber link. I’m sure that’ll be true in some way for any of those games there. Also kinda hate the “using personal history for confirmation” but whatever.
Anyway, if this is it for me, I tried my best! Earnestly was a very fun game, I was happy to play it. I’m excited to discuss it and find everything out in the postgame. Also if this is it for me I get you need to discuss but for the love of god don’t drag it out till deadline.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
I'm sorry Bop but I don't think there is any way we are not flipping you today.
This means that we should have at most 1 non-town remaining, so we can definitely use heury's shot. Santy's claim does stand out both from flavor a perspective and both because it's the only one that was never tested. Let me think about this.

Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
@somitomi, @EGW: could you please both state explicitly what kind of results can you receive? What is your ability testing specifically?
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
If someone has the energy and inclination to collect all claims and flavor info for all players (even dead ones) into 1 post - possibly with links to the source -, that would be greatly appreciated. Would do it myself but I'm pretty busy until Thursday.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 3
Man, am I an idiot, I should've realised you also knew what the flavour alignments meant by the time you explained it in thread and possibly even before you claimed yours. Especially when you kept pushing in my direction for supposedly being the only one who claimed with that knowledge.Bop wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 5:34 am

I kinda want to take it slow and see what scum does in the night and what results we get with EGW
I'm Zestaria or Berseria cop, I learn which game the target's character is from.
I have most claims jotted down in my notes file, but it's on my home computer so it'll have to wait until the evening.
