With 12 players alive it takes 7 to eliminate
It is now Day 2. Day 2 ends January 26th at 4 pm EST.
Note: I'm trying to do the deadline before work this week instead of after. I hope that works better for people's schedules. Since it's a little shorter, if that's an inconvenient time I'm willing to move to monday evening without consuming an extension.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 2
I think it will be helpful but I'd rather not explain how it will be helpful because than scum can work around my plans.moody7277 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 1:43 am @BF: If you're thinking something like association with a Lord of Calamity is correlated with scum, I've got bad news for you. I was associated with a Lord of Calamity (named Velvet, very tacky dresser), so that might explode your theory if it was such. I also would feel highly unqualified to pick claim order.

do we think there's an indy who has something to do with the calamity/shepherd thing? like, visit all sheperds / kill all calamities / other?
just boomfrog asking everyone to claim theres (if they're not flavour indicative) struck me as odd

I still feel Heury may be our indy, if not he's scum. He's doing really well at trying to appear town, I'll give him that.
As far as Boom goes, I think his post claiming he may show up as scum to a flavor cop was strange, but he wasn't the first one to bring up a mass claim of who everyone was aligned with... it was LaserGuy. So I don't think that is AI.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 2
Genuinely. That has always been a nothing-burger.
Really, not sure. I would have at least hoped? Definitely no hard confirmation that my power succeeded, nor that anyone was aware I was the one who sent it.Bop wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:30 pmIf you targeted someone without a power, do you think they would still be notified?ahippo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 8:34 pm Doin' a bit of catch-up here. Did anyone claim to get my motivate? It's very possible it was blocked, and afaik, the target has not spoken up yet. There might be a good reason they're not saying, but I was hoping that person could confirm they were motivated. Would help my case re not being scum.
My biggest concern is that my rando wheel landed on scum. If I landed on a townie, they
A: Had a night action and used it twice
B: Had no night action and weren't informed
C: Had no night action but were informed
In circumstance A, I can understand wanting to hide that fact by not claiming motivation. In B, well, they just didn't know. In C, they would claim. No claim, so not C.
Now of course if I did land on scum, there's not a chance in hell they'd own up to it, unless they were willing to make a particularly bold lie to follow. And we certainly haven't gotten that yet.

Ahippo is overly concerned with their own claimed role. The lack of any scum hunting is anti-town, but the hyperfixation on this claim makes me lean more towards it being a real claim rather than a scum gambit.ahippo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 5:36 am My biggest concern is that my rando wheel landed on scum. Well, if you're not indy then you have to be scum... right?heuristically_alone wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 6:13 amAhippo is overly concerned with their own claimed role. Well then I'm stumped, because you're not coming across as town to me. I'll take another look at your posts. Anything I should keep an eye out for?

Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 2
I thought only Moody was stumped. I am fully aware that I am mis-yeeted D1 or D2 more often than not, so I have been putting in a purposeful effort to sound town, so that's likely what your noticing. I can't say you're that bad at the game for noticing that detail I do agree with your reads list for the most part, but disagree with your scum read of Sabrar and I think you should take a closer look at Wam.

I don't understand the question. Please reframe it. I'm willing to talk about it. I don't know why you say the underlined.
I appreciate the sentiment, and you are a strong scumhunter yourself. Yet I find today important to elim correctly, and I think you are the correct elim.boomfrog wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 12:50 amI seriously considered giving him a pass D1 anyway, but I'm kinda exhausted by how many people I don't want to yeet D1. I didn't push LG because he'd declared low energy. I don't want to yeet wam or heury or moody because they get missyeeted D1 too often. I don't want to yeet sabrar or bessie or you because you are valuable scum hunters if town.
Your appeal to emotion feels out of place here. As in, the timing seems odd. It happens now, and not the day before when you responded.

Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 2
Started doing an entire in depth reads list and only got through ahippo and too tired to finish boomfrogs. Will try to do get them all in by Saturday.
Ahippo – has been very transparent about lack of strong reads and his in general confusion. Also they don’t feel defensive when being questioned or accused which I feel is more natural for town. That coupled with the early role claim and transparency of how it would be used (random number generator). I am concerned with the lack of scum hunting. If they were scum, following suit with this style of gameplay I think he would bus, so I propose Laserguy is a scum partner as they put him as the scummiest player. Lean Town.

Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 2
Santy's reads are predictable and align with Laser's reads. Feels like he has to push in that direction. It also makes me realize that, Laser had been unfair towards me, most likely because he felt like he needed to scumread me. Doesn't really have any unique takes.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 2
Finally, if we are dealing with two scum here, then I'll reconsider my read on Ahippo. At the moment, he seems to be digging himself further in a hole in my mind, but he doesn't seem to be progressing a win con to survive at the moment. Yet I still maintain the original claim was intended with that in mind. In a team of three, Ahippo is my pick.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 2
Boomfrog's latest AtE and his forced push on JC feels mistimed, and I believe it's due to having more motivation to play now that Santy has arrived to help nudge him to try harder. Boomfrog does not seem genuine on this page or the page before.
Re: Tales of Desolation mafia Day 2
I think I'm changing Wam from scum to null. Reading Laser wrong, I sort of POE'd Wam since I struggle to read him. Santy feels more of a hit than Wam.
