TL;DR on Wam was for a player of Wam's Calibur I don't think asking for solves makes sense from a town incentives because it sets up an impossible standard, hence why neither did it. Town would want a more incisive question, but if it were fully responded to, it would be useful for setting to mis-elim over, unless it's something they normally did at this stage. Nothing in wam's past games explains it.

Wurst I'm fine with dying, my initial thought on being scared of Bessie was it was RVSy and NAI in that stage and thought being suspicious of it was suspicious and could be useful interaction fodder but they doubled down on it and haven't been much of a presence otherwise.

Freddino, I'm a firm null on them because I haven't made heads and tails of their incentives, so I'm not sure if their oddball play is within their town or scum play or both. That said, I'm gonna be selfish here and say they have excellent reads later in the game and in their last scum game (that I played anyway) they started flailing pretty easily under sustained pressure, so I don't see sorting them later as hard. Rather not elim toDay.

Bessie: Their engagement in the game lacks substance. The only things that's come of it with scum hunting significance was the freddino conversation which frankly was purely by accident and "why not respectful?". Willing to elim out of nullness.
I think thea we have to play a wait and see game to determine if it's a commit to the bit situation or if it's an interitive restriction of some kind
What do you mean by "interitive"?

It's also a good excuse to be kinda crypticly vague all the time

Yes! I made it easier to read.
All right, everyone, the day is officially over, bessie is 360% scum
JC_DADDY25 wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 8:13 pm So Fred is claiming that he had not read his role yet before that confirmation post, but he had a profile picture that he says he usually uses as a breadcrumb to his role that he had changed prior to his first post. Confirmed by his post on regards to making sure it wasn't directly tied by the title to what his actual intent was...

Is that right?
My understanding is that the first avatar was actually breadcrumbing "didn't read, LOL" until he ended up reading his role PM and changed avatars according to that. Still somewhat confounding behavior and I'm inclined to believe Seven's reasoning for why Fred didn't stick to his guns about not reading the role PM.
Vote: Fred
I'm also inclined to vote the worst, not particularly feeling the case on wam and since he's prone to being miselimed on D1 I'd rather give him the benefit of the doubt. I think we're kindred spirits in that we both do better in the latter parts of the game.

Oh and one more thing @the worst:

Anyways, I think I might as well give my thoughts on the rest of the cast minus Thea and Mak cause I want Mak's answer first.

Santygrass: town lean. Initially reading as scummy over "are you town" being a really empty way to start a line of questioning, and classifying what i'd argue as an affirmation in context, as a deflection, but their response to my questioning was really good at explaining their motivations and the frenetic "I just want to be understood" energy when they realized their initial response didn't answer my question makes it read as more genuine.

Seven: null. The thing which makes me not see the concentration on pfp and flavor as scummy is, they're sick. Unfortunately he has what I've always read as focus intensive solve style, which would be especially impacted by being sick so I don't see their focusing choices as AI. But that just means a null.

Somi null for now, I'm really not sure how to read him right. Last time I ended up resorting to doing it mechanically.

JC has nothing of note, null.

Moody: null, turned their read list over a bunch of times in my head but it just doesn't give me anything that sticks out either way for the slot, it's perfectly average for them as a player including the Bessie+1 for no sufficiently explained reason cause they explained a previous tendency to default to townreading Bessie.

Oh and @Seven, my flavor thoughts are still percolating right now.

We have about a day left til deadline.

On Freddino, I had a town lean on for response to me but he's claiming he hasn't read his role til after then.

The thing that complicates things is his lying last game and his unusual thought process to the game in general, so I'm genuinely unsure what to make of this alignment-wise.
Helpful tip: If it's funny, I do it. Absolutely cackling last game.
Time is running out friend and you're on the block, if not you who should we elim and why?

@Adum I meant "iterative" not "interative", that was an autocorrect typo

I kinda get what you mean about Wam but I'm not entirely sold here, dont think he's the play here

Gonna be real, town keeps losing games here because we are playing with no consideration for building winning endgame coalitions. We need to stop doing that. Not trying to be a jerk but there are some players in here with abysmal track records making the right call in endgame and Im frankly sick of losing over and over the same way

Should be fred or wurst today, I'm fine with bessie but I'm not sure she will be as popular a pick. Interested to see if fred comes thru with a decent alternative case before deadline

not explicitly, but I haven't gone back to re-read your early posts in full context yet to parse it, it was my surface level reaction on my first read through. You sayin it was intentional though def puts a spin on things

And by "iterative" re: Thea, what I meant was I wanted to see if this was a passive full time restriction, a passive part time restrict (e.g. even/odd day restriction or D1 only restriction) or if it was a 3rd party imposing the restrictions and whether it would move. Tho Theas most recent post now makes me things it's not a restrictions at all and rather a voluntary bit given the content in parentheses

@Mak:

I figured, I was hoping for more clarification. I read it as you asking if it was a post restriction or something self imposed. And it's absolutely not a post restriction, as per the rules the game is guaranteed to be free of them.

I didn't say I was being intentionally stiff, I just acknowledged you were correct and I'm interested if you have/will figure out why. Don't want to explain more yet because I'd like your answer first.

Building a winning endgame coalition is why I don't want Fredd today. This is something me and Seven have talked about, if allowed to get later into the game as town he has really good reads. Like, to the point that Seven was concerned he was reading Gojoe good. Granted he sucks at convincing people...

Also, I believe that he talked to Madge before the confirm post, which makes the "his scummates messaged him" explanation less convincing.

Btw @mods would one of you mind messaging me on discord ASAP. I want to make sure something isn't considered angle shooting.

Oh ya, time for Thea, following my readslist here: https://ramenchef.net/nxf/viewtopic.php?p=78764#p78764

Thea: null, I'm sympathetic to Santy's argument that it's play that would help scum more than town, but given it's not only not a one off and consistent after drew suspicion I think it's some type of Seven like play with some specific benefit intended from it.

Still, if it's gonna continue and they don't find a way to use it to express more nuanced game specific context they're just a burden on the game and should be yeeted.

Votals:
the worst - 1 (wam)
moody - 1 (adum)
Thea - 1 (santy)
Seven - 1 (the worst)
Fred - 2 (Seven, mak)

With 12 players alive it's 7 votes to hammer.

Deadline for D1 will be 4 PM China time, 3 AM US eastern, 8 AM UTC, all on the 5th of November. That is approximately 1 day and 3 hours from now.

See countdown: https://www.tickcounter.com/countdown/6 ... -countdown
Based on the assumption that this vote count was accurate, here is an unofficial votecount:

Votals:
the worst - 2 (wam, Somi)
Wam - 3 (Adum, Thea, Seven)
Seven - 1 (the worst)
Fred - 3 (mak, Moody, Santy)

I was going to say fres should claim as he was E-2 but Seven and somi shifted off, looks like worst, wam and Fred are the viable plays with less than half a day until deadline

Tied wagon at deadline = no elim btw, there is no "whoever got to the tied amount first is elim'd" tiebreak

Interesting. I take it, then, you were going to attempt to play the game, or at least the phase, without knowing your alignment, but your curiosity got the better of you? This leads me to suspect that you kept receiving messages by your scum mates. I suspect that if you had just received the one message from the game start, you would have been able to hold onto the playing-blind attempt, but that receiving multiple messages inadvertently revealed to you that you were scum and nudged you toward the temptation of checking.

Vote: Fred

That lines with your “not reading” DW post as well.
Actually Madge was the one storming my DMs
Question Fredd, you said Madge was storming your DMs, did you actually discuss this with Madge in DMs?

Adum: I seek the finest and the bravest knights in the land to join me in my court at Camelot.

bessie: How long do we have to wait before we know if the miracle works?

Fred: Nobody's perfect.

JC: The Dude abides.

Makhaira: Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope.

Moody: Round up the usual suspects.

Santy: The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Seven: Wait a minute. If we let it in, the ship could be infected. You know the quarantine procedure... 24 hours for decontamination.

somitomi: Just keeping swimming.

the worst: Show me the money.

Wam: And that is the whole problem with aliens, is you just can't trust them. Occasionally you meet a nice one: Starman, E.T. But usually they turn out to be some kind of big lizard!
