Even if we decide on an elim, I’m not for ending D2 early. The early days are the most important content. I have said before that everything needed to solve the game should be in the D1 content, if only I were smart enough to see it. D2 is second in importance for getting player content and interactions. We don’t have a lot of night results to overanalyze and influence discussion. And by early, I mean more than 12 hours early. I don’t think we need an end of day like D1. And Wam and somi won’t be around at official end of day anyway because time zones.

I could see Georges Thea/Madge case D1 and Thea’s George/Seven/somi case D2 to be theater. As well as their back and forth about somi D1 and Alli being so speculative about why Mak was tree stumped. Knowing that George was going to claim stumper also would give Alli the safety to case George and then drop it once he claimed.

@bessie, if I’m not around, I’m leaving it to you to remember this.

I am not counting that since she voted him for not posting reads. As soon as he did she unvoted. I do want you to re-evaluate Bessie. Her early game play seemed more neutral to me.
Refer to my first D2 vote here, and my actual vote here. My vote was directly for not producing the promised reads list that Fred claimed he had been working on for days. He produced a technically qualifying list. The list is a bit disappointing because Fred didn’t include any thoughts just raw data. But the raw data he provided gives me the feeling he did read the thread and do some analysis. This doesn’t necessarily mean he’s town as scum can do lists too. I unvoted because Fred responded to my direct reason for voting, and I wanted to give him a little space to see if he continues to produce content and perhaps even give some reasons for those scores, or if he will only produce content if he’s pushed or has some votes.

Oh, that reminds me, how’s that catch up coming along @somitomi?

Theallieza wrote: Wed Sep 11, 2024 6:46 pm How do you think the stump role would work in the hands of mafia? Why do you think mafia would target the stump on the same player as the NK as opposed to literally anyone else?
Noting because I’m interested in the answer to this.

Revised after my efforts tonight. Might want to freshen the read on JC, the -1 on Fred might be a little harsh, but he's back to being cagey about the reads, so it may stay there, and after what I went through with Thea there is no way my sanity could stand the same type of readthrough on Seven, so I may end up relying on EGW or Bessie's read of her

EGW +5
Bessie +2
Thea +1.5
Madge +0.5
wam +0.5
somi +0.5 to -0.5
JC(D1) -0.5
Fred -1 (pre reads list)
heury -1.5

Seven TBD

Apocryphal part of American mythos is that when he was a kid, George Washington tried out a brand new axe on his dad's cherry tree, and when the servants were about to get punished he said he did it, and his dad appreciated his honesty.

@bessie only the first few pages of the game (or rather the first few posts each player makes) and the EoDs are important to me.

I'm done with somi metadive. It's inconclusive. As I said, he's yeetable but not for any particular reason.

Heury, Somi (Process of Elimination), JC (Process of Elimination). I have town reads on everyone else.

Seven/Mak > Bessie > Fred > Thea > George > Madge > Wam > Moody. I'd only look in this group if Heury flips town.

Going by your list of me, Somi, and Huery...Somi seems like the best way to go here.

I know I'm not scum, so by process of elimination that leaves the other two and you're not known to bus a teammate -- also factor in your comment that you'd only be willing to reevaluate your read on the people on your town list if Heury comes back town -- that leaves Somi and someone on your town list.

The difference between your town play and scum play is night and day to me. For example, your play in WWZ vs Halloween 2021 and Recyclables. It's like how Laser can read bessie and somi from just a few posts.
I'll do Somi next @Ran. The reason why I haven't already is because I've done so in prior games and found no differences. As Alli said, he has both good and bad games both as town and scum, and they are indistinguishable from content alone. Eliminating him early on is pure chance, and I prefer to read him by other means.
I bet I can soul read myself even quicker than you can.

Just did a quick skim read of seven's posts and only found one interaction between seven and Bessie and that was in regards to voting for an extension. And soon after seven reads Bessie as obv town citing Bessie's game style being similar to a hydra game they played together. Seven/Bessie team possible?

My guy, I have literally vanished into thin air lately because it's either that or go even more into the red on sleep deprivation, that's just how well I can read stuff. I'm also not sure why Seven would give a heads up in scum chat instead of letting his mates react more naturally to the radical strategy of getting in an argument with EGW.
Anyway, if you're gonna elim me for information let me know, I was about to ask adum for a sub but if I'm dead soon anyway I'm not gonna bother him.
bessie wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:58 am Oh, that reminds me, how’s that catch up coming along @somitomi?
It isn't, because yesterday evening I wasn't anywhere near the computer that has my notes. Which is annoying because I think there is something to be gleamed from that EoD scramble. Purely based on information gathering a Heury elim might be the most fruitful today, since they were the alternative wagon.

Somi gets this wrong and says EGW and Seven scumreading each other. It's a weird error because their posts are really clear. There's not really any way you could read those posts and come away with that impression. Mak spent a bunch of time asking somi about this and somi said he just wasn't paying attention, which I find unsatisfying... I can dig up those posts for you later.

So.... How did this happen? It could be an innocent mistake, but it's a weird one.

I think what probably happened was there was a scumchat discussion that went like this:
Seven: I'm going to scumread EGW. He will scumread me back and we'll spend the whole day arguing and everyone else will probably ignore it and think it's two townies fighting.

Somi: You've done that before and it worked. That sounds like a good plan.
Somi was expecting EGW to scumread Seven back. But EGW didn't. But Somi didn't read what actually happened in the thread before he posted. He made his post based on what he assumed would happen.
This only works in a scum somi scum seven world right?

I just don't take it into account. A cop with a guilty, yes. A doc with a save, yes. But for the most part, I ignore Power Roles in my reads until I have a complete view of the setup. This is probably an artifact of my early mafia experience, where red herrings were common. In one of my first games as mafia, for example, I was Mafia Doctor despite there only being Mafia Kill power (e.g. no Town Vig or the like).
