Two day bark up! Sorry got home late last night and I was tired.

Start end of page 29.

This is a weird comment. Why would I only push you as scum? It’s like, you’re town reading me for not tunneling you? Should I be tunneling you?

Seven wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2024 7:11 amThe town slips from Fred are also probably real.
btw, what's a town slip, and what did I slip up to that point?
Town slip is when a player says something that unintentionally reveals that they are Town... something related to their role, or lack of some specific knowledge of the setup that mafia would likely have, for example.

A scum slip is the opposite, where a player reveals information that shows they are mafia--extra information that they have that town is not party to, or some information that they said in scumchat but thought was in the actual game thread, for example.
@Fred, Theallieza didn’t include this, but town “slips” can be and are sometimes faked. I no longer have my encyclopedic mafia memory so I can’t find one right now. Also, scum “slips” can be accidental. Once I caught Heury in a total definite indisputable undeniable scum slip and let an elim on him. He was town. I don’t give primary consideration to town or scum slips, only in support of other reads.

Theallieza wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2024 7:10 pm I think it's probably best that I don't bury the lede here. My case is probably going to be long so I'd rather give you the headline first and fill in the details as we go. So, here it is:

The scumteam is exactly EGW, Seven, and Somitomi.
I am reasonably confident in everyone else being Town.
I don’t have time to analyze the entire post right now but will read it carefully. I’ve had George on my town list for most of the game, I don’t feel I have a strong read on somitomi or Seven but most of your analysis is of the three as a team.

Hahaha a lot of George’s responses are in the “would I do that as town” category.

Yea Fred finally posted his reads list! He did as I asked so for now:

Unvote: Fred
Freddino18 wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2024 9:46 pm This list only counted negatives, with the sole exception of Bessie due to two posts in particular.
Care to elaborate?

Theallieza wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2024 10:39 pm Because I like to be precise in my language and explain my thoughts clearly. Trying to distill a detailed argument into a single sentence will invariably lose a lot of the context and nuance and lead to people misinterpreting or strawmanning me. And because my reads on you, somitomi, and Seven are interlocking, and trying to point to one while ignoring the others will lose key pieces of information that connect the scum team.
I agree with the first part of this. However, if your analysis is completely interlocking, it is more difficult for someone like me that is not good at behavior-type of analysis to follow. Is there any case for EGW, Seven, and somi independently as scum?

Theallieza wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2024 11:00 pm Also, this comment is very funny in the context of this and this.
Just noting this because I have commented on these posts.

Seven wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 4:26 am That was fun. It's been so long since anyone has scum-cased me.
Note to self, scum case Seven more often to bring him joy and happiness.

Noting George’s claim.

Skimming bottom of page 32 and page 33 because I need to cook dinner for my dog and throw some kibble at my husband. Will try to read carefully tonight.

I feel Gluelock and Fred may be connected. There was just something odd about the way he asked for the mod to prod Glue even though I and Huery hadn't posted either. Like i mentioned before, felt like it was intentional to distance himself and gave me scum vibes.

Right now, I'm getting town vibes from Bessie, EGW, and Mak.
How does your opinion on me and Seven change after Glue's flip?
Why would Glue's flip affect my opinion on Seven?

Up to that point, you had the only two day-1 posts that seemed to be undisputably town: Calling out Heury for lying about lurking, and one other thing that I forget. The scum thing was light, it was you "noting" something Madge said in a sort of passive-aggressive way.

Fed, George, Alli, Laser, Ran... all these alternate names had me going back each time to figure out who you were taking about. Either way, I no longer think Fed and Glue are connected.

You on the other hand, are still up there after your most recent comments toward EGW about not wanting to answer him because he's trying to figure out the rest of your team.

please clarify this. what do you mean they get "priority" if they are targeted by a dancer? who else would kill them? how else could a treestump trigger other than being in your pool of 4 and then getting killed?

and you're saying specifically that your ability is a one-shot and MUST be used on N1?

On the ability, it is mandatory to use, and it is one shot. I have to send a list of 4 names, and one of them would randomly get targeted. Yet, if dancer targets one of the 4 with a kill, the target would be chosen. If I didn't choose any names, 4 random names would be chosen without the guarantee.

I was just about to post that I'm feeling a bit disengaged toDay because I can just sheep Mak (and I will, unless Mak goes completely off the rails). I'm inclined to revel in the opportunity to sheep but it occurs to me that I shouldn't be neglecting my own reads/impressions/etc. The thing is I feel they're kinda worthless, at least where my own reads are concerned. I think if anything I'm worse than average at identifying scum.

I don't counterclaim EGW. Tree stump seems like a townie ability, so EGW is provisionally town.

Updating my last readslist based mostly on vibes:
Townie: Fred (getting more and more sure that Fred is town, just good vibes), Thea (I don't think scum would have gone to all that work with that list and defending it; unless they're some sort of indie who really needs to get a sole win), Somi
Neutral: Wam, Bessie, Moody* (no particular oder)
Voteable: JC, Heury*
Perfectly within her meta but I struggle to read her: Seven (don't like the end of day silliness but nulltell IMO)

*heury and moody are marginally more scummy than their colocataires due to being alts to a town wagon

Non-Vibes, Facts, Extra Firm Reads:
Mak - conftown, will sheep (would only be reluctant to vote Fred if told, and even then as long as Mak seems to have thought about it and isn't just doing it on a whim I would prob do it)
EGW - provisionally town due to no counterclaim and non-bastard game
madge, ratammer's ponywife, she/her

Indeed, how else are you going to decide if Mak is "off the rails" unless you have at least something to compare his recommendation to? And what you put down seems reasonable (although that may just be confirmation bias).

How does your opinion on Fed change?
Fed, George, Alli, Laser, Ran... all these alternate names had me going back each time to figure out who you were taking about. Either way, I no longer think Fed and Glue are connected.
This actually aggravates the user due to how much effort Seven puts into being accommodating. I have been forcing myself to call Ran by EGW & George since it is what he is known as among the xkcd crowd. Through a ctrl+f of my ISO, I see that I did slip up and address him as Ran once. He has been Ranmaru to me for 16 years, and it is the name he still goes by elsewhere. It therefore takes cognitive effort for me to refer to him as George, and more so as EGW since it doesn't follow the X-consonant-vowel-X structure of English words (as opposed to acronyms such as WIFOM, WIM, and FoS). Is it truly so difficult to grasp that the G in EGW stands for George? That Alli is short for Allieza? Am I the one who reads the name as The Allieza? (Oddly, I pronounce 'Thea' as TAY-ah in my mind despite this). Is it truly that difficult to recall something that was established on the 2nd page of the game—that Theallieza is an alternate of LaserGuy, someone you have played with? Did you really have to go back and figure out who Fed was rather than infer from the context that it was a typo similar to yours of 'talking' in the quote above, or are you messing with me? The aggravation from the user stems from the imbalance between the effort put in and the criticism received. Given the imbalance, it is apt that this writer temper their agreeableness and henceforth place the cognitive burden upon the reader—I will be referring to EGW as Ran from now on.

Why would I spend time helping someone identify my team as mafia or piecing something together that is nonexistent as town? You don't even spend time posting more than a few sentences each Day

Note: The chuckle above was not a result of the impulsive laughter response produced by Dancers; instead, it was diplomatically placed to indicate lightheartedness.

Evil George Ranmington's play is so flipping weird. I've never heard him say something like "voting heury is gamethrowing."
I'm actually not convinced that having the tree stumper role clears him. His play today is like a it's coming from a ghost, a shell of Ran. I've been trying to discern if this is alignment-indicative or if it has to do with tunnel-minded personality. When Ran is hooked on something, he is hooked. Little else matters to him and he becomes like a shell to anything but what he is focused on. I think he may just be in an FF16/Yu-Gi-Oh tunnel-minded state currently.

Also it's funny that the tree stumper role ended up being a combination of Alli's and Mak's interpretations.

@Mak: WIM means something akin to drive/gusto. It stands for Want It More, describing the competitive passion one puts into the game.
