Doing these in alphabetical order due to sorting, except for EGW and Seven because I need to gird my chi to go through their posts, and hopefully I'll be able to POE them by the time I'm done with everyone else.

A. Don't take anything Cynical View says about you personally, he has Adum as lean scum.
B. The stomach churning rollercoaster that is the last hour of EOD with majority elim is a spicy treat we're all having to get used to, so I have total sympathy for any deterioration on your part
C. I will be judging on the totality of your posts, not just any adrenaline addled actions EOD. Really, as another self-assigned homework task, I want to do my own tick-tock of the voting the last 3 hours or so to see who really does deserve blame if any.

What I admire about wam is how much of a sponge he seems to be. Never feels quite like he's keeping up with the game, then bam latches on to what feels off, has follow up questions, and maybe slow to pull the trigger but a solid scum hunter. Wam is following town meta I expect from him this game and has valid reasons behind his scum reads.

Apparently it's a line from the song Human by the Killers. No idea what the significance is.
This song is very famous. I presumed Madge’s comment to be a joke.
Going back to comment on this. I interpreted madge's question as we know the song exists, but is the game going to be themed after the song or have its own theme.

Read on seven:
One of the most self aware players and every game feels like seven goes out of their way to act scummy, towny go against any known meta. It feels like seven's goal in games it not to be read rather than solve the game. All 3 of seven's biggest scum reads (moody, Madge and glue) I have as town reads and yet I could see town seven intentionally pointing as his town reads as scum reads. Dead null on seven for now.

Here's my deed dive read of Heury. Reading through this, my scumdar is not pinged at all. Through out all his posts, I find his tone townie, not like when I last seen him as scum, where he was opportunistic. However, there is one post that always seems odd to me, it sticks out like a sore thumb: Post. Seems odd he'd choose JC at such a crunch time, and barely even posted again. So I'll leave him at null-town.

There's text from Bessie that feels from her just for me. I tend to town read Bessie immediately, so feels like expecting/wanting me to town read her this game. Though now that I think about it, town Bessie would want that too.

Thea at least twice has emphasized how we should expect their tone to be different as this account that other account, thus insistent that we don't scum them based off of being different that perceived town meta.

I do recall discussion about the polarization of his play, mostly thinking that it sounded really bad to have town play so distinguishable from scum play.

bessie's response to theallizea's confirm post is funny considering the mostly non-serious stance that exclamation point=scum in those.
moody7277 wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:50 am
bessie wrote:Please clarify. Do you mean funny peculiar, or funny haha?
I was completely serious. See above.
Chuckle-worthy, as in "X is totally scum because they used an exclamation point." Even though I've seen it used several times, I remain dubious about the confirmation post analysis (most likely because I am not able to use the trick myself), but I'm not going to denigrate anyone who tries the method. I will note that this does make a tie between you and Thea.
Makhaira wrote:what specifically do you recall was claimed in that discussion that made EGW's townplay so distinguishable?
Found this right away from Baldur's Gate from Seven's own keyboard about their opinion on EGW's polarization:
Seven wrote:btw @Somi, the thing about Major League Baseball players is that they are MLachable precisely because of the lack of polarization between their scum and town play. Players like Ran are highly polarized: the discrepancy between his town and scum play is super obvious. In contrast, with Heury for example, his posts are blanketed in obscurity.
Bold mine. Exactly what the qualities are that distinguish town!EGW from scum!EGW in Seven's eyes is something you would need to discuss with them.

Got another chuckle from Fred's latest. RVS is RVS, and I'm getting a good town read on him now.

Random Vote Stage. Some people like it, some don't do it.

moody7277 wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 11:56 pm bessie-- first post where some people are seeing a claim is not a claim, it's just her describing her playstyle. second post with her doing absolutely serious confirmation post stuff, only somi and Madge pass with everyone else no better than neutral.
1. You misread my opening post. I interpreted the explanation point as town lean, not scum lean.
Just to put this to bed, I did see that you read Thea as town based off the confirm, it's just that goes against the exclamation point=scum meme that I remember. Interactions with other players show nothing out of the ordinary. Rating: +1

EGW-- RV Fred, couple of pokes at Seven, using Thea's other name, votes Madge, thwart's Bessie's confirmation analysis, has different theory about Seven than Thea, read on Madge weakens so he unvotes, suspicious of Glue's timing on his first post, also sus of wam (Cynical View is curious about him picking the heretofore lurkers.) Asking for uncertain players to proxy with him, motivated by majority to elim rule (which is a source of so much stomach acid). Rating +1

Fred-- RV EGW with comedy, revokes it after getting response by Mak, worried about people not being "on theme", some rule spec, doesn't like EGW proxying people, votes EGW for real. I liked the looseness at first, but at this point he's staying a little fluffy. Rating: +1

Glue-- first post just after asking for him to be prodded (which I do agree with EGW is odd), immediately votes Madge. Rating: -1

heury-- likes somi, EGW, and Madge reactions to posts, couple of other fluffy bits. Rating: -0.5

JC-- afk message, insufficient data

Madge-- positively giddy, votes EGW, thin reads list, unvotes EGW after saying it is semi-RV, setup spec, ratings based on activity, seems to want to elim lurkers. Rating: +0.5

Mak-- RV wam, pointed questions to several players, grumpy about lurkers, asks about Fred's vote change, how Seven thinks I'm polarized (which TBH surprised me as well), Seven showing no follow through on their solve, puts up votables list, votes me. Lots of scumhunting here, rating +2.5

Seven-- no link with Thea and Madge, confident that EGW is scum, votes him, thinks I'm scum too, and that me liking Fred makes him the third, votes wam (not in Seven's solve) for his reads post, no extension, weakens read on Fred after asked by wam. Rating: -0.5

somi-- RV Seven, likes the opening moves, comments on a few players posts, questions heury's post ratings, unvotes Seven, against lurker elim, debate with Mak over how closely somi was reading the thread. Rating: +1.5

Thea-- asks Bessie about her read on Madge and somi, EGW slightly town, corrects somi on interpreting reads and gives slight scum read, reaction to EGW's read on Madge

Here's the post I've been working the most re Thea and Seven. Inasmuch as I think of Thea as town, this post would force me to think of Seven as town as well, but based on my read above I don't have that certainty, which either means I'm getting snowed (meh) or a small chance they're scummates together (yikes).

reading Fred, Madge and Mak as town, votes me, dislikes EGW going after low content slots, wants extension. Rating: +1

wam-- controversial reads list with some duplication, votes Seven, explains EGW read as evolving from town to scum, switches vote to Glue, questions Seven about voting him despite having a 3-person scum team in mind, doesn't like Madge's mod question. Rating: +0.5

Which means, quoting SDK, my vote on Glue is now real.

Why is somi Town?
I'm not certain if it's a change or you and Seven just have big enough error bars on your reads that I'm not comfortable calling you definitely votable or not votable. Plus the contradictory points I'm getting from your analysis of Seven vs EGW earlier against the read of Seven I did is needling my brain.

My town read of somi was based on the variety of his player interactions, which I saw Mak also had but in a higher degree thus the higher rating on Mak. Post-by-post is something I think I'll start doing D2.
somitomi wrote:Can you talk about the reason these three made the votables?
I agreed with EGW's point that Glue's emergent post had a highly suspect timing, his content since may do something to temper that, but I'm not recalling much to do that. Heury's been pure cotton candy. JC is probably the least votable of the votables, when he actually puts up some more posts I'll have an actual read.
Freddino18 wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 1:12 am Nope. I said D2 because I would need D2 info.

Why did you start with JC here? This seems like an odd choice.
Didn't already have a read on him (my big reads post had him as insufficient data), he's since put up enough to where I figured I could make some judgement, and he's laconic so that post only took me ~20 minutes to compose.

You got me D1 though, I am very impressed. I didn't think that Madge/Alli case was something scum!EGW would be able to pull off.
You weren't there when I pushed a Town Heury off a cliff? You seem to be scumreading me for not agreeing with your read. Yet you are also unwilling to look at Somi. I also am saying I don't think Moody is scum. This doubt however strengthens my town read on you. Town Zen + Town Ran have not played in a game together for a while now.

Every post Heury has made today is wolfy. If it wasn't non-bastard, I'd suspect he was a Jester. It's not believable to me that none of it is pinging you.

Your WIM is also notably gone. Why is that?

I disagree.

I'm waiting on others to post so I can get a better idea for reads. At the moment I just have gut reads. Taking my time, and I don't suddenly have a better direction I feel 100% confident in right now. I've been mobile posting before our conversation right now. Also I've been playing quite a bit of FF14 lately.

You seem to have quite the paranoia if you decided that scum me can't do something and then for some reason decided I could. Get your head straight and realize I'm town here.

Progress is negative.

I'm sorry that while I was doing my detailed reads, I got through 6 pages, then y'all made 8 more pages of content? 6 - 8 = -2

I would suggest I be Mak's proxy, because right now I'm wanting to vote Seven for his desire to end the day phase, and for his comments about voting to extend the day phase being unfair. In PYP he was the first to vote for an extension and he was town.
