EGW I was asking seven about you soliciting sheep votes because it is out of character in my experience for you in D1 and I wanted a sanity check, it pinged me as similarly odd to you giving that hyper abridged early reads list as just offbeat

I like George for today. For the record, I genuinely did scum-read his question toward me as it was illogical. His thought processes since then have been good, or at least understandable, to me. His defense of somi is reminiscent of how he read him in Baldur's Gate. I don't think it was suspicious that he voted Gluelock or was pushing toward "LHF".

That being said, I don't have EGW as locked town as I usually do. That initial question toward me still rings, and his strong town read of me is not something that I am used to. While he is aware that I often prefer to sit back early on, it usually leads to him beginning to waver on his read. Regardless, George isn't a play for today.

I've done that before, and I do like getting sheep votes to get support for wagons I'm trying to eliminate. The abridged reads was so that there was content for people to discuss, and I wanted to lay out my scumread of Madge.

I am about 65% sure that this is Madge's scum meta, which is unfortunate because I don't think she has done anything particularly scummy. Her asking about day chat is potentially performative, but I don't see it being outside of something town!Madge would ask.
madge wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 12:52 am haaha now i'll remember you gluelock, thanks for the vote.

deadline is at noon my time but i have a meeting from 11-12 that day at work so i won't be online for deadline unless it finishes early (which it does sometimes)
Something about this post pings me. I've been going back and forth on whether it's partner-indicative. However, while I understand EGW's reaction to Gluelock's intro, I actually had the opposite reaction. Voting and dipping in that way is <rand Wolf.

To me your interjection seemed like an answer to a question which annoyed me, but I figured you might be town doing it since I have seen you do that as town. However as you could see in my scumread of Madge at the time, I was more concerned about her lack of follow up. I townread Thea because they had the same observation I did in Millerizer Mafia. Why didn't she comment on something she asked about? So basically, I would rather have you wait to see if she posted again without commenting on Thea's post. Also your play here is just miles away different than your scum game. That's why my read of you is strong, it's just clear as day here.

Here's the odd thing though. In Halloween Mafia, I pushed him while I was scum and he was town, he had a chip on his shoulder. I'm surprised there was no such reaction here.

Yay another game.where there is all the content when I'm asleep.

You know when I check posts before I post them, when I'm scum. You know when I don't check posts as town....

You can think the reads list is faked all you want it wasn't.

But tbh I have learnt if I have this much suspicious day 1 I'm just a mis elim later so not.going to fight it. Think egw is actually misguided town based on the push on me.

I was completely serious. See above.
Chuckle-worthy, as in "X is totally scum because they used an exclamation point." Even though I've seen it used several times, I remain dubious about the confirmation post analysis (most likely because I am not able to use the trick myself), but I'm not going to denigrate anyone who tries the method. I will note that this does make a tie between you and Thea.
The bolded line here is where my suspicion of moody stems from. It isn't believable to me that moody actually saw scum!bessie going out of her way to town read her partner off of a confirmation post. This is especially so when he just saw bessie play as a wolf where she was inclined to do the opposite.

moody7277 wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:50 am Got another chuckle from Fred's latest. RVS is RVS, and I'm getting a good town read on him now.
This sudden and strong town read from Fred's NAI post here gave me whiplash.

His read of Wam in his readlist doesn't seem consistent with what he had just posted about him prior:
moody7277 wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 10:15 pm Lot of talk about the contradictory bits in wam's reads list. Madge being all over the place is something I can understand; her and D1 not the best of friends, but having EGW both town and somewhat scummy is the huh? part to me, especially with a vague "the vibes tell me so" explanation.
moody7277 wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 11:56 pm wam-- controversial reads list with some duplication, votes Seven, explains EGW read as evolving from town to scum, switches vote to Glue, questions Seven about voting him despite having a 3-person scum team in mind, doesn't like Madge's mod question. Rating: +0.5

With all that being said, the idea of scum moody was stronger to me in a wolf!EGW world.

I townread bessie, Alli, somi, and Mak for various reasons. The town slips from Fred are also probably real. Heury/JC null. I think I would like to go Madge to shake things up.

2. Of what percentage of the total words did you think about, not just read?
1. You think me incapable of subtlety?
2. That is not something I could quantify.

Extensions are unfair—particularly publicly voted extensions—and in this case, unnecessary.
This post pings me. From the opening post:
2. Up to 3 deadline extensions may be granted for up to 48 hours, first will require a simple majority of players, 2nd 2/3rds, then unanimous. Requests for deadline extensions must be done in thread as follows "vote: deadline extensions"
Requests for extensions are fair according to the game rules, and are to be made publicly by voting in-thread.
Tangentially related but I have been wondering why deadlines tend to be the middle of the week when people's schedule is usually less flexible.

the reason i'm asking about daychat is because some 10 years ago probably i was part of a scumteam that did a last minute wagon using our daychat to coordinate, which won us the game (watch someone scumread me because i mentioned that i've been scum in the past, SHOCK HORROR). the reason that's especially top of my mind d1 is because of the majority voteoff, which from my past experience with these games has involved sudden shifting wagons at the last minute. but whatever. i asked a friggin' question because the rules weren't crysta l clear and i don't play these games by analysing long tomes of text i analyse these games by analysing mechanics and i want to know what mechanics are on the table

i do like the point that wam wouldn't think to call me out for it unless they were scum.

i don't g et the EGW wagon, vibes are fine.

i'd vote for gluelock, less posts (so fulfilling my lurker mandate) + voting for me = clearly doesn't understand how to scumread (lol)

vote: gluelock

vote: deadline extension

it's gonna be fairly unlikely that i have a chance to post again before deadline, i was going to tell you my life story but yawn

actually i gotta, so i'll get to work at about 8.30, then we go get coffee from around 9.15-9.30, then there's a morning tea at 10.30 that goes through to the meeting at 11 that finishes at noon (deadline), so basically in the whole morning i have like 1.5 hours to actually work and believe it or not i have an actual job that i need to do, not just mafia lol, and i just know there'll be like 5 pages and i will really regret it. if there's an extension i should be OK though (which is why i voted above, shock horror)

i have very traumatic(not really) memories of ending up on the final day with people who can't manage to get a post out often enough to discuss the outcome and feel disengaged/etc and i'd rather avoid that because it's not fun and also it's very hard in that situation to get an actual read.

this is ironically why i only sign up as replacement these days, i have seen so many games go to shit because one player has the llama grooming convention during the game week and keeps on playing with VLA because the alternative is modkilling their slot which is even less fun. i think this is why i am stuck on this (also it's d1 and what the hell else is ther to discuss)
I disagree it depends on the player. I know I post more as scum than town and I have seen others do it as well. I.e. "power wolfing ".

I agree don't end up at the end with the quiet players though.

Happy with seven or Glue.
Initially, he has EGW as lean scum for unknown reasons. But when I asked him about what changed in his read, he did provide a reason:
He felt George's questions weren't actually an attempt to solve.

And that reason doesn't sound believable. There is clear attempt to solve in George's play and it is typical for him to ask these sort of prodding questions. Additionally, the three posts that Wam linked, came right after the post that he liked. So if it is true that he initially put George town for those two posts, it is unlikely to me that he would have forgotten that he did so after reading the posts that came just after. I think it is more likely that scum Wam wanted to foster a George elimination that was being brewed up by Seven, but without committing to it.

Further,

The point he brought up regarding Madge here is actually quite significant. It seems rather unlikely to me that town!Wam would not have brought this up initially, only putting her down as scummy with no reason.
Or when I went back for your evidence foe my gut feels I re read and spotted what was pinging me.
