If we eliminate outside of my elim pool (Seven), I would prefer Gluelock or somitomi.

I'm under no obligation to out my role, and never said I would. Honestly, it really takes the fun out of the game, so if that's what yall wanna do go ahead and vote me out now.

You're assuming everyone is going to be truthful about their claim. We still have to figure out if any powers they claim make sense, whether they were used in a way consistent with their reads at the time, and of course there is the possibility of duplicate claims. So see, still loads of fun ahead.

If you're town, your role exists to help other townies puzzle out whose scum. That's what the game is about and a good mod makes the game with that in mind. They're not a replacement for the social aspect, they work with it. As a result, town needs to be able to enforce mass claims happening.

It you genuinely refuse to ever claim then you're incapable of playing to your wincon outside of vanilla games and should just play vanilla games.

Yes, but I joined a mountainous game. It didn't end up like that because people were getting lazy.

Not to mention, you're looking forward to it too much and I don't think you're town.

Moody said it better than I did, the puzzle aspect (and for scum trying to manipulate that puzzle in their favor) enhances the social aspect.

Part of why I much prefer PR games over vanilla.

if Bessie was genuinely unwilling to ever claim, my answer would be yes. 100%

Bessie showed she was willing to find a compromise way to claim her roles and results in sorcerer's mafia, because it was necessary to fulfill her wincon in spite of preferring to play like you.

I greatly respect her for that.

(For clarity, this is only my second game with Bessie or on this forum period.");

I love the puzzle aspect of the game when there are lots of power roles. But I'm also against early claiming because I think it takes some of the fun out of the game.

I am against townies claiming to avoid the elim because I believe that if a townie is scummy enough to be voted off, then maybe the best thing that person can do to help town is to let themselves be eliminated so that town's efforts can be freed to hunt scum.

It wasn't, and I'm surprised you're blowing it off the way you are.
Yes interesting how Seven is answering for/defending Gluelock. Its like when he hijacked my question to somitomi.

Providing their own recollection of the event is hardly defending or hijacking. I think its interesting that one of your first posts is addressing this rather than the bigger conversation about mass claiming. JC's contribution to the exchange feels paired but they're not both town.

That's what I was figuring; Seven even fake taking Gluelock seriously says they don't even take their own claim seriously. I'm not totally expecting BF level gambits, but to push it off as "jj" seems trite. At this point, counterclaims are one of the main tools we're judging alignment with.
Yeah so are we agreeing to the mass claim order put forth or no? A silly, easily disproved counterclaim shouldn't be taken this seriously. its not a good look.
