It wasn't, and I'm surprised you're blowing it off the way you are.

I saw it after I posted and I thought it was a response to something I said and it wasn't clear, but I guess it was in response to you?

Yes interesting how Seven is answering for/defending Gluelock. Its like when he hijacked my question to somitomi.

That's what I was figuring; Seven even fake taking Gluelock seriously says they don't even take their own claim seriously. I'm not totally expecting BF level gambits, but to push it off as "jj" seems trite. At this point, counterclaims are one of the main tools we're judging alignment with.

I don’t do “If I were town/scum would I do that” posts. But in general (of course other factors come in to play too), I think it is more advantageous for mafia that has identified a serial killer to leave that person alive for the first few days to help thin out town, especially if it is traditional (as it is here) to have the serial killer win con be last man standing
.

Noting that you're affirming this after the purpose of the question was clearly articulated.

I'll have to do a more complete response to your post when I have time but holy crap, that game sounds like a nightmare to play
We had a lot of experimental setups on the old site, and almost never had vanilla games. We would occasionally have Matrix6 or a newbie setup that were advertised for newbies wanting to learn the game. I pointed out JC’s post about how the mafia doctor might function, and my own idea trying to figure out the “weirdness” with the Human team. I think that it is a mistake to disregard these ideas.
Fair, the doc being able to bypass their own protection when they're loud is in my opinion, a bastard setup though.

AdumbroDeus wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 6:25 pm @Everyone: thoughts on massclaiming toDay? My concern is since it's 3-2 imo, it's likely we have to nail scum continuously from ToMorrow on to have a realistic chance of winning and having one extra lynch is useful for piecing out contradictory claim.
No. I don’t believe in claiming for no reason.

And in this case, I don’t know if it is a good idea. We don’t know the Humans' goal. With their investigative role, what if they have a lyncher-type win con?

And meta read, but I don’t think Sabrar would make a game that was so unbalanced that town only get one miselim. Madge would.
I'm interpreting this as a weirder and more experimental game which I guess would put this in Madge's wheelhouse, where town depends on scum at least to a degree, but not experimental enough for a three man scum lynched team. I've never seen that but I have seen games where scum were expected to cross eliminate.

If everyone else agreed would you be willing to claim?

@Adum, if the doctor role is traditional with no weirdness, what motivation does George have to use it on a townie if he has a living partner?

We know it has some weirdness though, it's loud. That gives EGW a cost/benefit calculation for whether to protect scummates and potentially out them or try to use the public declarations as part of their mask.

I'd also like you to clarify whether you would agree to mass claim if the rest of town does. I'm definitely taking your opinion into consideration though.

I'm not suggesting it, I'm mulling over my interpretation of what Bessie is suggesting as a reaction to what you suggested earlier about the mechanics of a Mafia doc, which Bessie seemed to confirm is what they intended.

Dunno if you're on, but I'd like your thoughts on mass-claiming, specifically because I'm concerned about the possibility of a 3-2 mafia setup.");

I'm Alexa, and I can track two people and watch two people, but I only get results if one of the people I'm tracking visits one of the people I'm watching.

N1: no data
N2: saw EGW visit Seven.

I wanted more discussion.

*Sigh* still wanted more input.

Anyways since you already claimed who were your targets that didn't give data? That's important.

I would consider claiming my night result, but not necessarily my complete role. Would need to think about that.
Hmm, would claim my night result.
Will not claim my role name, because I an still wary of a lyncher.

Initial thought, moody has claimed too much information for it to be a lie.

My feeling is that Sabrar would consider the underlined poor game design and would not approve it.

I would consider it poor game design too (*thinks of Golden sun mafia*), but humans seem to have a lot of night power for scumhunting, both giving them tools to identity dissenters and giving dissenters an incentive to hunt them or at least hunt the public doc. Which is maybe why they thought it was balanced? I'm having trouble thinking of fairer setups that this power set makes sense for.
