EGW is a carry over read from D1.

Im still not seeing what some see in JC however.

@Seven

I think my read (or lack of) towards Mak has a lot to do with recency bias. In other words, they haven’t been around and I don’t think about them much.

1. Yeah.... There were definitely 2 kill actions taken last night. Or do you think the doctor's action is always public?
2. Zeniba is definitely not a lone human, as mod clarified they were scum, not SK.

These both have very confident language being repeated. You're definitely sure there were 2 kill actions, and you're definitely sure theres more than 1 human.

Compare that to:

3. Yes. My role pm says I'm town, and not human or scum

This is lacking that confidence exuding jargon from your first two statements. Why not "My role pm says I'm definitely town, and not human or scum."? Ironically, you should be the most confident about this; the other two are reliant on conjecture but you ought to know your assigned role. Normally, I wouldn't even think about something like this, but it's a pattern that is really standing out to me. Does anyone else think I'm just grasping at straws here or is there some unconscious linguistic tell at play here?
*Raises hand* I think you're grasping at straws. My role pm doesn't say I'm definitely town. It says I'm town. The adverb I used was to emphasize disagreement when I drew what I thought to be (and still believe) an obvious conclusion which was the opposite of what you believed.
The the fact that you're making the same context mistake about your OWN post that Gluelock did feels extra weird and somehow gives Gluelock's point weight in spite of itself. Wow.
AdumbroDeus wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:34 am ? I can confirm that whatever message you received isn't mine. If you think you're reading a BC of me flavor copping Heury, you're wrong. I think they're Zeniba's scummate because of their play around the slot.
And by playing around the slot so you mean sheeping Laser's town read on freddino?
Yep, well past the expiration date when they were posting really weird things and actively trying to convince people out of the lynch.
Does the doctor usually override a bodyguard dying when the body guards protected the target?
Maybe it theoretically should. Don't think I've seen it happen in games though.

Just skim through his iso in his scum game and compare it to his town game. I don't want to say what it is that's different so he's not able to adjust (I will later though).

EGW is right here. Even with the confusion between Zeniba and Zen, it's obvious he was talking about me given the context and the fact that he was voting me all day. JC is not in this and is active lurking. Activew lurking = posting but not really involved.

btw the reason the Zeniba account exists is because the person who made it (not Trisscar) was memeing with my name.

Must.... bus... partners... in every scum game!

In all seriousness, for transparency's sake I will say that I bused more than average in my smashboards scum games.

Your thought process, plus essentially holding your read as a shield to never suspect Heury is why I think Heury has the highest partner equity for zeniba.

I agree not Mak, Mak would've probably missed the deadline if they were Zeniba's scummate because they have a "lynch inactives" policy and they wouldn't wanna be seen violating it.

At work now, so more thoughts when I get a chance.

Hmm... thinking about, it's probably worth trying to resolve this slot one way or the other. The ambiguity of completely different alignments isn't helping.

I agree.

Too early for an elim wagon outside of a solved game, cause wagons that lose momentum tend to dissipate because of recency bias (though if I'm historically wrong on this forum, people can feel free to correct me, also I'm borrowing a lot of people's useful words this game). Plus I'd like Bessie here when we start seriously gunning for Heury for rather obvious reasons and weekends are better for her.

I'm thinking Saturday. Plenty of time to make it happen, but probably not long enough for it to randomly dissipate.

Seven wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 11:58 pmBeing a setup god isn't pertinent to thinking that a traitor would contact their team by listing all of them as the team publically in thread. All that would do is a) cause the scum team to kill them, and b) cause the scum team to be outed if the traitor dies. That's what I'm suspicious of her for. She deflected this as a "I wouldn't do this as scum" comment, but it's not -- it's a "why would ANY decent scum do this ever".
I don't know about you, but I'm not certain mafia would immediately kill someone who nailed the team on D1 since that might be seen as confirmation that they were onto something. And yet on the flipside, if said person turned out to be a traitor (or otherwise mafia-aligned), town probably wouldn't take anything they said at face value, especially not their reads. A lot of "why would scum do this?" turns into wine by dint of that very sentiment.

I think this is just some linguistic quirk, the third statement is a fact so there's little need to indicate confidence there, while the first two are inferences that are usually accompanied by language indicating how sure the speaker is about them.

Why is it thinking about the rather obvious link between you and heury not advantageous to town?
Seven wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 4:11 am Somi seems fine. Wait Somi, can you go into detail about why EGW was your strongest town read???
I don't think I said he was my strongest town read, but I generally liked what they said and the way they engaged people for their opinions.
LaserGuy wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 4:25 pm I think that this post points against Mak/Zeniba being partners. Mak misunderstood Zeniba's big post (where they were looking through moody's read list for duplicates, I think) as being from Zeniba, but ended up with essentially the same analysis as they had when it was from moody. They weren't trying to hedge their interpretation because one player was a partner.
Yeah, I think this makes more sense, I had to read that post several times to realise those were quotes.

I actually was going to mention the idea of two scum teams yesterDay too but figured it would put me over in terms of suspicion as people tend to be puzzled by my "psychic" insights (see Stranger Things).

Adum deduced my meaning. I was interpreting his insistence that you are Trisscar's partner + his statement implying that the mods have established a premise of flavor being relevant to alignment as him being a role cop who investigated you last night and got that you are human.

Yes, this.

Also @Adum, heury can only be scum if bessie is scum. You think bessie is town, so I don't think it's reasonable to think heury is scum. I suppose there is the option where bessie has a strong reason to believe heury is town rather than him being confirmed, but regardless, it's odd that you're ignoring the bessie side of the equation.
