That ball looks rather more angular than they usually are.

That's because a) modern footballs rarely use that style anymore, and b) even for traditional shaped balls, the panels aren't flat (unlike in Randall's picture), and are more curved in a somewhat sphere-like shape (if they weren't, the ball would stop much faster when rolling).

Naturally-occurring soccer balls/footballs start out as polyhedra. The ones on Earth have been eroded to a more spherical shape over time, but since Saturn has a different atmosphere, its soccer ball is still angular.

Okay. So the big football/soccerball is inside the atmosphere like a fish in a fishbowl, bumping up against the side. Is it maybe a toy for a creature in there?
