THE BESSIE OSIE FIGHT CONTINUES AND I CANNOT. grrrrr. like i am literally skimming over any parts of posts where you guys are talking to/about each other. which means scum is winning, but my sanity matters too

How is useful to know someone is paranoid about someone in generating a healthy discussion about the game

@WMU: we used to ask random questions to generate D1 discussion in the days of olde xkcd. i was famously bad at the questions when i came up with them, and apparently nothing has changed

@bessie i haven't midded secret santa for like 5 years. i did however just mod halloween lol



tldr: as a result of recent events I am basically heavily pocketing boomfrog now. I think boomfrog has a better idea than me of what's going on.

I don't know this plist particularly well. I know the folks I played with last time, and I'd be fairly scared of you being scum again. :p

From the outside world I know osie and I know wmu. I don't think ive actually seen WMU's scumgame but she can be a badass as town so it'd be interesting I guess. Osie is also good scum and it's been a hot minute but I feel like I have a p decent shot at reading him.

Skimming the thread (work break) I see a Bessie vs Osie interaction. I will read through and analyze later.

GTH I think Osie looks good based on meta (long posts explaining thoughts) and the slight paranoia showed about me. I want to consider that an attempt to read me, and not the other way around.

holy crap why did i agree to this game.

thank you for saying i'm a good player but that's only as scum because i feel sneaky and manipulative!!!! you'll see my town game now and be AMAZED (at how bad it is) - this is also why so many xkcders gave me a free pass on all my erratic behaviour

@osie, bessie: i get the feeling this is going to become huge and encompass the whole of D1 and on the VERY LIKELY CASE you are both town I do NOT want to have to deal with the fact that scum got to sit here and throw popcorn at you while giggling smugly.

@everyone else: who, OTHER THAN OSIE AND BESSIE, would you be most scared of as scum and why? [this is just a question i am asking for the purpose of discussion generation, if you think this is a scummy question then answer an alternative you prefer]

My current thoughts:
Bessie is being bessie, nulltell with slight town lean because null = town
I don't know what Osie is like but the level of freakout/etc seems very genuine when I feel like scum wouldn't want to go through all the trouble of producing a wall of text on D1 for someone they know is town (I have to assume scum wouldn't do this to each other but IDK)

If you consider "FoS osieorb18" to be tunneling... Given that I was the first person to question bessie at all. If anything, I had the gall to question what she was doing and she took that as an excuse to expand one of her scummy feelers into a miselim attempt.

I'd always say "yes there's a reason", right? I'm not the type of player who does things randomly without at least coming up with an excuse for it. How does asking me if I have a reason help sort me?

I'm not really sure. A pretty decent chunk of content is fair, but a lot of his content has been bein cute (just osie things) and then being frustrated by bessie. I think bessie's push feels more disingenuous than osie's reaction, and osie prefers town so at some level I'd call him slightly more likely to wall case someone on fuckin page 3 as town. But reading osie in a vacuum I'm not sure that "annoyed by bessie" qualifies as nuanced enough for me to feel confident.

Is there something particular about his content that strikes you as alignment indicative? / like I should have a read on him specifically?

The reason itself helps. Maybe I didn't ask for it literally but it's implied, and you ignored it and I want to know why.
